where did u get the threaded alloy shocks and the rims? coz once u got the academny rims u can get any proline buggy tires to fit.
Im not 100% sure about that so if you happen to order them and find out that they dont work please dont blame me on that as its just me guessing.

Good news! I was alos thinking about buying a rising storm but parts was going to be aproblem. So was tires. But apparently, the academy buggy wheels and tires fit the gravel hound. Im assuming from this thread that the rising storm and gravel hound are the same buggy just with different bodies. So these should work with the rising storm. At least I hope so.
Heres a pic with them on:

Link to the shocks: http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXHAT5&P=Z
And to mount the different tires, I guess you would use this but Im not sure. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXGE28&P=Z
Does anybody know if proline/mrc/xxx-4 wheels uses pins? IF so then you would need to get those and some new rims.

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
i believe any wheels will fit the gravel hound/ rising storm if the hex has the built in pin adapter, which some do, like the HPI ones.
but if you want to be able to fit more tires, go ahead and use those

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
Let someone who owns a rising storm talk,ok. I got pro line dirt hawgs to fit to the stock rims fine. The stock motor sucks, but the stock esc can handle down to a 20t motor. I put in a tower hobbies speed stocker. It goes like 25, might be a little too slow for you. No threaded shocks avalible, but you won't really need em, cuz the rising storm isn't racable. The aluminum dampers are good, but the stock ones with heavier oil are fine for bashing. The stock springs suck! As all tamiyas it's super durable. I bash REEEEEEEEAALLLLY good. I go crazy. I've taken this off huge jumps, and even gone hill climbing. My next project will be an indestructible mt/crawler.

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
I have a 17turn speed gems in mine running 3600mah pack. Its a fun car to beat around, but I am selling it now that I have my Kyosho Lazer X5. If anyone wants a rising storm roller let me know, it has the Aluminum front and rear uprights. I will probably Ebay it.
It was a blast to drive, and I upgraded mine with all ball bearings, the heatsink, Losi tires up front, prolines in the rear, and a nifty LRP speed control. Fast is the best way to describe this buggy. Especially on the track. I will certainly miss it

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
So you guys are basically saying, to mount some different tires on it, all you need is the pin adapter and the rims. What rims should I use? I plan on using this guy in mud/snow etc. If this thing can take proline tires then Ill be straight. Maybe I could convert this thing to a truggy........
I didnt plan on using the stock motor that much anyway. Just when Id bet out in the messy stuff that way I dont mess up my good stuff.

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
Just get some Academy rims and use Losi in the front and proline in the back. You can also use Kyosho Tires and Wheels. The Rising storm wheels fit my Kyosho Lazer ZX 5 just fine and vice versa.
Either the Academy wheels or Kyosho wheels should be easy to get a hold of. No mods, and just mount and glue your tires...done. Also the Jato wheels and tires will fit it. So any other after market wheels and tires for the Jato will work.

Wow, thats one meanass storm. [8D] No longer a rising storm, but a raging hurricane. I knew there was some aluminum things out there, but look at it. It looks like it can out-bash a savage.

RE: Rising Storm / Gravel Hound
u sure can get them in a combo, and im talking about mini ones, that can do comm lathes, and will be just big enough to do a-arms.
they are about $250 for the combo.
the pic is of a CNC milling maching/lathe (computerised) worth nearly $15k. but it is the mixture, and also a lil bit larger than the one i would buy.
