if its a novak explorere im not completely sur eof its motor rating, but this motor should be alright, your not gonn ago 40 in an electric without spending hundreds, and you would have to do some work on the transmission before going that fast,

You'd be best off with one of the brushless systems that f150dan suggested. If you do find a brushed motor that will push you at 40mph, you will only have a few runs before performance drops off. You will then have to have your commutator cut and replace the brushes. After that, a few runs than a cut, a few runs than a cut.... on and on. With the brushless you can forget about all this and just go 40mph all day, all year, without motor maintenance.

ok newbs, be quiet now, do not reccomend to someone starting off in this hobby to go out and buy a 250 brushless system when thats not what he needs, #1 his car only costed 114.00, #2 his transmission will not take a brushless motor, #3 its not a few runs then a cut, thats only on hot mod motors, a 19 turn will be 12-20 runs then a brush replacement, then when those brushes die you should cut the comm, so its around 35 runs before you need to cut the comm,

OK jkrustchinsky, pay attention. He said "I want this thing going more than 40." 19-turns won't get anyone to 40. It will take a hot/mod motor to go this fast. If he wants to continue to go fast, it will in fact be, a few runs than a cut. Brushless is actually better for someone starting off and his transmission will be fine with an aluminum idler gear.
teamhex, do you want to go "more than 40" or don't you?
