dont think so followed dir tried out of box setup then prog to my trans still slower than baja then set the timing to max power stil slower i jus think brushless is no better than brushed excpt mabey on1/10 scale and thats just runtime and mabey a little bit of a boost in speed

yeah... because that's a 4800 KV motor compared to a 5000kv motor

Wow, sorry to hear you are having so much trouble, but I think there are several reasons why you might be having trouble.

First, what is the KV rating of your motor? If I remember correctly, the comp motor is a 6800KV motor. The one I've got is the comp x, which is a 8000KV motor. So, problem #1 is you bought the wrong motor when you listened to the LHS guy saying tha the comp x will tear up diffs. Of course it will! It's a very powerful motor, and when you put that in there, you WILL break stuff. My diffs are holding up well, but there is a few replacment diffs that will be coming out soon. Taking a car that's supposed to do 18 to 45 or even 60 is going to need upgraded parts, without a doubt. That's the price you pay for speed.

Second, is your power source. Brushless requires ample supply of current. Cheapie packs won't work, because they can't deliver the current. You need GP1100's or IB1200's. Nothing else will do....unless you want to run LiPo. I run 7.4v LiPo in mine and it's wicked fast...about 45 mph. If I get a 3 cell pack for it (which I probably will) that'll give me 11.1v, and should net me 60 MPH.

If you give me the voltage you are running, tire diameter (meausred) spur, pinion, I'll run it through the gear calc and see what it says. We'll get you haulin' butt one way or another!

Oh, one more thing. Give Castle Creations a call. Their tech support people are excellent to deal with and love to fast too! I'm sure they can solve any problem you might have.

I love old electric r/c's, that's a nice looking buggy. I have a MRC Thunder King, not as old as your buggy but still very cool. What motor, battery, and esc are you running?

got three orignal rc10 the one in vid is running a speed gems 9t think its called a kryptonite with a old tekin tsc 410-s2 esc specs say it can use up to 14 v bbats and no motor limit im just using a venom 3000 and as couple of gp 3300

the one on right is pretty much stock even has orignal team ass stock motor

one in middle is special you can check it out in the thread called rc10 with a kick
here is a direct link http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_36...tm.htm#3647976
it uses a tazer 19t esc and trinty green machine motor but has a little extra kick let me know what u think
