when you over tighten stuff, it causes excess stress on the bearings and so you're pressing on a bearing in a way that it should'nt be when spininng causing lots of wear as well as pressing it up against gears causing friction and in somcases distroting the plastic in such a way that your mesh gets all screwy so one side of the gear is tight and the other is loose and such...

YOU NEED TO CUT 1 WIRE AT A TIME, if you do both you'll short out the pack and it'll be near worthless, and i have the sidewinder 4600 and that is crazy fast, the 7700 should be insane...

don't go with the 7700, you are losing a ton of programability because you will have to gear down. that motor is meant for light on-raod cars like the TC4. here watch this [link=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpcgGd9GJ8A]video[/link] it makes more sense.

I am sure this has been covered before, but I am not checking out 500+ pages to search for it, so here it goes.

I bought a Venom Fireball motor for my Evader and it's dead after running it for about 12 batteries. I am going to return it and I want to know what is a good 17T motor to get in the $30 range.

How do you tell what is good from the little descriptions? Here is an example of different motors in the same price range, how to know? By the way, I use the truck on road and in the grass, all over. I don't race, just having fun.

Reedy Flash Modified

Associated LRP V10 Spec.4 17T

Associated Reedy Radon 17T

Epic Intense Modified Motor 16T

Team Orion 17 Turn Double Formula SV2 Pro
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXJAK3&P=7

Any other suggestions are welcome.

By the way, I am using the stock ESC, is it possible that has something to do with the motor dying, or is it that the motor is a piece of sh*t?

Many Thanks,
Ian

I need advice on a Lipo for an Evader, MM 5700. I need 30 minutes in the Main. Some guys use maxamps 8000 at the track, but is there anything comparable in performance, but cheaper in the wallet? A 4700 NiMH barely makes it, and slows at 20-25 minutes, so I need an upgrade.

i have heard good things about track power or flight power. orions definetly top of my list... SMC makes a good lipo, SMC just makes good batteries period. the associated reedy lipo looks promising. as far as the charger it looks good, but at that price range i would look into other brands like hyperion

track power = flight power just to be clear, yeah they make some good stuff, SMC of course, trinity's new lipo's are pretty dang good from what i've heard my idk price or if hardcase the venom's i heard may be decent, and duratrax just realeased some but no word on these...

as for motors from above all those are good, but if you'll be willing to go to a 19t AE's challenger is a pretty good motor

TrueRC guys, plain and simple.
Their packs don't look great, but pop it in, and it blasts.... It's insane.
The hardcased = even better! Although, it's only found 5000mAh in a hardcase.

For someone that has never done anything with shock oil, is it hard to change the first few times? I know that when you fill the shock you're supposed to wait for the air bubbles to come up. Is that pretty much it??
