the evader trans is usually beefed with the al. idler and the b2 gear. are you
stripping a b2 diff or the duratrax one? what are you using to lock the diff?
if you get a steel diff gear, more than likely the case will let go.
when i locked my diff i used devcon. wich is used to repair metal. it seemed
to give the plastic gear some strength.

i wanna take a vader out but my st has a smashed rear arm, and the buggies
servo took a dump after a 50m cartwheel, and another cv. was smashed to bits.
[&o] happy days.

im not having much luck. i put all my running gear from my buggy into my st truck.
mamba 7700 combo, b2 diff. anyways, i went and paid 25 bucks for a 40 pack of
alkaline AA's for the tx. i drive out to my huge grassed area.switch everything on,nothing.
the truck wont move.starts up, does its little jingle.nothing.so i pull the motor down, clean, no dramas.
pull the esc out of its box and its lightly caked with dust and grit. i cleaned my other esc
with motor cleaner and it just seemed wrong. the mamba esc has 2 circut boards in it
with a small gap allowing junk to collect.

my question is other than compressed air does anyone know a proven cleaning method for esc's?
that doesn't harm them. (i only want to know for complex brushless esc's, not a sprint)
these esc's are practically computers. cheers.

I am still running stock tranny and diff with a CC SW 4600. I have melted a diff (it was out of adjustment) and stripped an idler (we were racing and jumping alot) so far (2 months). I replaced it with the stock stuff because I had it in my spare parts bag. I think if you keep things adjusted and let the ESC handle your traction control you could be okay. If you run Lipo and like to do doughnuts and wheelies, you will have problems.

I want to try Lipo and expect to do the upgrades, soon........I also expect to crash alot more!

I have done the aluminum idler gear but it was the stock diff that went next. I know I will probably strip the b2 plastic gear and if I find the B2 aluminum gear then the case will be next. I am looking into the axial trans because I can get all of it in metal, gears, case and all. The price is high though, 80 per trans and I need two. We will see I suppose.

I thought about trying to reinforce the case but I will have to spend money to get to that point. Thats why I might throw in the towel on the evader trans and go with something that I know I cant break..............You must be tired or bored, I am at work and both right now. Hopefully it will pick up soon.

i was, school early morning (aka like 8 45) so i was like dead, still am tho kinda better....

epoxy isn't that hard to deal with and isn't too bad for the $$$ but you gotta think, how much do you have into the evader tranny, then how much would it be to get a firestorm tranny and then what issues could come from that...

when you guys are doing the b2 diff conversion are you using the factory duratrax thrust washer with the small bearings, the problem i keep having is it comes loose, instead of the thrust washer i tried a bearing ,but didnt have a flanged one,it didnt wotk, thrust bolt keeps coming loose , so i looked at the rc10t4 manual , they use 6 balls between 2 thrust washers, so i took 6 diff balls and put them between the thrust washer instead of the small thrust bearing holder, i have at least 4 lipo packs run thru it -not coming loose and not slipping .....
