If the shotgun style are soldered and not spot-welded, they are usually as good as the side by side. Otherwise the side by side are usually better.

yay a chance to show off my uber limited shop knowlage

okay a spot weld is just a weld on a small spot, so youre not welding the whole battery bar just 3 or 4 or 6 places which under 30 amps you can get away with but over that it just can't handle the power and gets hot and causes tons of resistance....
http://www.uslasercorp.com/NewFiles/spotweld-2.jpg
heres a pic now its that but smaller on a battery, so not a whole lot of contact as opposed to soldering the bar on its a lot stronger and better contacts joint...

and since i assume schooters using cheapbatterypacks.com they do have an option to upgrade which means you get it soldered for a buck more per cell, and is well worth it if you're buying quality cells (which is all they have) and since its for sub-c's + quality packs very worth it a reciver not so much but here year

dang another long rant...

heres soome pics i took today with my new body (unpainted) since it is the body for the nitro evader i had to dremel out some plastic around the rear shock tower (shown in pic 2) i also had to file down the battery tray wall to be able to get to the usb port. ( in pic 4) in pic 5 i drilled out the side of the chasis and put the esc switch there

I would think that switch would get broken being right there. It would if it was on mine anyway. I just zip tie up the wires on mine and let the switches hang inside the truck where they can't get ripped of by a passing twig.

What motor is in that thing? I'm kinda thinking about a sidewinder, lately and wondering if I'd be disappointed.

actually i only do high speed run on my street or indoor racing. i'm leaving my t-maxx 3.3 to do all the bashing so my esc switch should be fine. the sidewinder should be fine but since i was able to get this system for about 40$ more i thought it was worht getting the better esc. also witht he sidewinder you have to get a special cable to link it to your computer (another 20$) and the esc that i have has it built in so really it was like 20$ more

If my eyes are right.
That looks like a Mamba Max 6,900 kV motor, right?

How are you securing the ESC down? I have it on velcro, so I can just rip it out when I need to use the USB.

i have the sidewinder in my evader and it's not as fast as it was in my b4 but gear raitio's are going to be played with and my top gear's been acting up ever since i got the pin, the bearing spin fine in each half of thier respective cases, but when i put it together its pretty tight when it spins... i'm gunna do some work on it tonite just to find the exact location of the problem... cuz i'm bettting the b4 isn't just that much faster (5-10 mph ) with same motor same batts and undergeared buy like 3 teeth...

so yeah i'm starting to put all my electroinics on this plastic velcro stuff thats really strong i'll see if i can find a link or get a pic later (at school) but yeah thats really nice cuz i've been changing up esc's and motors a lot...

personally i just leave my switch loose but i'm gunna tighten up the cable a bit with a zip tie but other than that it's fine loose you just gotta brign it in if you see it dragging... before i got my sidewinder i had mine mounted onto my rear tower brace...

I have noticed too, that for some reason the evader doesn't go as fast with the same motor as my other cars do. I don't know if the transmission is just not efficient or it's just the overall size and weight of it, or what the issue is, maybe I need to change out all the bushings for bearings, but that can't account for all of it. I have noticed that if I crank down hard on my wheel nuts, it seems to sort of bind everything up, so I have to end up backing off maybe 1/2 a turn.

Lug, I bet one of the bearings is seated crooked. I had the same thing happen on my rustlers diff bearings and one of them just hadn't been pressed in all the way flat.

I noticed a HUGE difference in my rustler when I finally went all BBs. Don't know if it really makes that big of a difference or if my bushings were just completely shot, but it was like night and day.

nope it's the 5700kv. it can actually go faster than the 6900 bc you can use a 3s lipo. so far from what i know the 6900 and 7700kv only allow a max of 2s lipo.

also my esc is held in place by double sided stickey foam tape stuff. i need to get velcro though. my esc came loose while driving today.

it lived... and my evaders also been covered in a 1/4 inch of the white fluffy stuff (snow, not the "happy white fluffy stuff") and lots of other things, mud, dirty water that came with the mud, and probally a few other things that void the warenty...

bah, i only don't drive if it's raining remotes are expensive, but let me tell you, wear some gloves if you decide to drive when it's 4 read it 4 degresse out, cuz your hands get cold FAST, on the plus you don't have to worry about your esc over heating, and mud never hurt nothin' just gotta clean it after [&:] but then you can find all the stuff you broke so that means new stuff,

i was a little muddy at the track...

LOL get some canned air, or a air compresser, or just by a spray head for a compresser go down to the gas station, and go to town... but yeah i just got a air compresor so i can't wait to get um dirty again, cuz i probally spent a good 5 hours cleaning that, i lost tools in the piles of dirt... but it was a good day at the track, i drove good it was running good,
