even if u think u messed up that color really looks awsome
sometimes the messups end up being better than what u orignlay planed

the blue on this was sposed to be solid but the white showing thrue really looks wicked (i thought it looked bad but everyone at the lhs keeps asking me how i got the color

Yeah that blue DOES look awesome!
Mine looks good... from a distance That's the case with most of my paintjobs!
as long as it's moving no one will see the big black splotches on the roof haha
I painted two bodies for my brother and they turned out good! when they're for me, not so good.
here's his jeep and 180sx bodies.

sorry to hear about that. Yeah the previous owner of my bandit used long screws where short ones should be used on the tranny case, there are holes in it everywhere! The shocks in mine were NASTY. the oil was really gritty and jet black when I emptied them. has it been run in the sand? that's always a pain too.

discgolfer--- Mine has the slipper on it. The first stampede I owned didn't have a slipper, it had an adapter-- probably the same thing you have. I kind of liked it because it keeps the spur from being "wobbly". We're talking about [link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXJK67&P=7]this part[/link] right?

studysession--- thanks! I should have taken a picture of it when I got it-- it was filthy.

Yeah it's actually my brothers HPI RS4 sport 2 (my paint job though[8D])-- we sent that pic in to RC Driver magazine and they put it in the Feb issue. I used spray cans-- 5 coats of candy red (transparent), then 2 coats of silver, then a coat of white "undercoat"-- and black on the windows. in just the right lighting it looks orange, normally it looks kinda pinkish red.

When using that spur adapter you won't use slipper plates. The spur is held onto the adapter with screws. If I remember correctly.

Then spacers and a locknut are used to hold the adapter in place on the shaft. I think I used some 5x8 bushings as spacers. that was 8 years ago [sm=pirate.gif]

I finally drove my bandit tonight. The motor I was using quit on me after landing a jump[X(]. What does it mean when the thing only works when I give it a little push? It can't start moving on its own[:@]! I checked obvious stuff like loose wires, etc. I switched to a different motor and it works.

that's cool, I like to see vids. I might make some of my bandit tomorrow.

so far I've tried 18/87, 20/87, and 23/87 gearing. the first two were good for my stinger 20 turn and the 23/87 seems just right with the venom 15 turn double. Discgolfer, you were right about those brushes. One of them wasn't sliding in all the way like it should. Thanks for the help!

I think I need to tighten up the springs a little. It bottoms out A LOT!
