Well, just finished painting the body for the RC10 I'm trying to rebuild. It was in pretty rough shape when I got it all in pieces, no body, etc. The buggy is almost back togeather and the body came yesterday. I wanted it to look kind of "old school". It's a simple paint job but I think it looks pretty "80's". I'm going to do the wing and gear cover to match, put a few stickers on and I think it will look pretty good. I'll post some more pictures when I get it all finished and running.

I've got a Kyosho Turbo Optima Mid SE that I've got brand new in the late 80s/early 90s. I've recently bought new HPI 2.2" rims and tires for it, and painted and cleaned up the body a bit. Love that car.

Also have an Associated RC10 I just got from eBay. Still trying to figure out what version it is (heh). It's got the tub chassis, but not gold. Silver colored aluminum. (So it's not the black anondized chassis like some I've seen). It's definitely not the original one, since it has wider F/R arms. There's a support thing that runs between where the 2 front arms bolt to the chassis, and that seems different to me.

I'm still digging through all the online manuals of RC10s to see exactly what I have. Then it's time to go to the LHS and get some new parts here and there for it, tear it down, clean it, rebuild it, and let it rip!

I gotta take and post pics...I love the vintage cars, since that's what there was when I first got into the hobby way back when.

Anyone here have a Schumacher Cat? This things rocked back in the day, but are probably real tough to find parts for nowadays. Any eBay auction I've seen of these in good shape have gone for a lot of money.

do u mean this support bar(sway bar)

your chassis has probaly just ben posished and it prob has the wide track a arms (aftremarket team ass part)

are thes what your a arms look like in the front

DaveG55
deff a good looking old school paint job cant wait to see the finished car
if u want it to look really old school try and find a old tamiya style decal sheet(with realistc racing stuff like monroe shock /penzoil/quaqerstate/ decals)

Those are similar, but not exactly what I have. They are definitely wider a-arms than the original stock RC10 though. But the thing in front isn't an anti-sway bar. It's a pretty solid piece of plastic that joins where both a-arms connect to the chassis. I'll have to show pics to explain (but I'm not at home now, so that's going to have to wait).

Do you think someone polishing the black anondized chassis would result in the silver color, or polishing the gold one? (Or both..?)

If this thing has a lot of aftermarket parts, maybe I'm best off going to my LHS and just bringing the car in, and seeing what fits. [8D] (Rather than torturing myself into finding out exactly what version of the RC10 it is, and using that manual).

is the plastic peice attached to the little trianglke pieces that actually screw to whe chassis
if it is when u buy new one they are attached with a peice of plastic so mabey who ever had it last didnt remove the piece pefore installing
