as you can see the esc is a hobbywing 25 amp esc, the engine is a e-flite park 400, the tires are stock(i plan on putting on high grip racing tires), the servo is a futaba s3003, has a rhino 3s li-po, and the biggest pinion gear possible to fit on the tranny without making modifications (i plan on putting a bigger pinion gear)

yes its alive!!! muahahahahahahaaaa!!!!!

Here is my DX I got a little while ago, and some of the progress I've made on it...still have a lot of plans for it.

There is more of my build here:

Very cool pflumitch. That is not something we see here every day. I bet you had a hard time deciding whether to post it here or maybe in an RC Tanks forum, hehehe.

It is quite a blast. I took my Baja SS with paddles/razors and it was a blast! Wish I had some of the snow you guys have gotten though.

Hello friends.  been a while since I threw up a thread.  I have a small and hopefully quick question for you.  Last week I ordered some new crystals from tower hobbies and none of them work in my cars.  First of all, here are pictured are some of my cars.

My Question is this.  If you look in this image, you can see 4 crystals.  The only one that works with my cars is the one of on far right.  Based off my pictures of my cars, can someone tell me WHY these other crystals do NOT work with them?

Let me know if you need to see my remotes.

Thanks in advance!

i can think of a few reasons but the most likely is that the new crystals are 27Mhz where as the old set is 72Mhz, or so it apears.

Thanks for the reply. Is there a way to tell? On the one that works, I see a 72-3 on the little pull sticker. Wouldn't they work if both were the same or are the specific to the transmitter/receiver? Sorry I'm a newbie to this.

as i understand it the radios (27Mhz and 72Mhz) are built differently, so the to are incomparable. i could be wrong though, my am experience is limited to the 2 radios i got with rtr's.

I'd like to see the 4wd chain driven 1/8th scale buggy from Schumacher, driven by Gil Losi Jr from the 80's. Now that would be OLD SCHOOL.

I just got ahold of an rc truck with no identifying marks at all. It looks to be early 90s technology. Im a newb, Ive been searching all over for something similar. the closest I can find is a tamiya black foot.

The radio equipment is all airtronics. I cant get the battery charger to work so I dont know if any of it works. Thecontroller is probably toast as it has some water damage from sitting in someones garage. So is it worth fixing up just for fun? It looks like it could be pretty fun.

That's a Kyosho Big Brute. If you don't have to dump a lot of money into it parts, it would be really fun to get it working again. Far as the electronics go, I'd rip em all out and go with a new or at least more recent ESC and batteries. If those are NiCd battery packs and are as old as that truck .... chances are they are shot and your going to need a new battery pack.
