Default Brushless Team Losi XXX BK

Ok I want to get one of the two novak SS brushless systems for my Team Losi XXX BK. I know that the 5800 would be a little bit harder to control off road at the track i will be racing at but the I can go easy on the corners. Here is my question how fast will the 4300 go in it? How fast will the 5800 go in it? I think that th Brian Kinwald edition buggy has a strong enough stock tranny to hold this power, right?

What kind of batteries are you going to be using? Those can influence the top speed of the car too. I reccomend the ss5800 though because at times, the ss4300 (I have it) can leave you wanting more at times (which is why I use a 7-cell battery).

Yes, batteries do make a huge difference in performance.
With 6 good cells (GP/IB, preferably 3700+) and normal gearing you can expect around 28mph with the SS4300 and between 32-35mph with the SS5800.
My vote from theses two options goes to the SS5800, but if it was me personally I'd go with a GTB combo. (I already did actually )

With a 5800 and 3300 you'll probalby pull somewhere around 38-45mph tops. The 4300 will be somewhere around 34-40mph. Both depending on what gearing. The bk2 gearing can handle the both bl motors.

mine is the rare bk 1 that everyone is telling me is way better then the bk 2 so it must still hold up in the tranny area.

Thise speeds will not be reached... you're lucky if you hit 40 with a 5800... normally 33-38mph and 28-33 for the 4800

i think it also depends on what kinda track u will be racing at where i race the track is very tight and the longest straight is maybe 40 feet so most of the guys prefer the 4300 because its easier to handle

a 5800 in a buggy or stadium truck will see about a max of 35 unless it is the upgraded version, then you might see 37mph.

ya I know also what should i do to keep it in great shape? I will be taking my car fully apart every other week so should I oil the bearings then on the motor? And do I tame the motor apart to oil them? And 3N1 oil will be good to use on it, right? It has deans right?

theres 3 screws on the endbell
oil it when you have the car apart or every other week

I raced on a damp track... ran fine
the screws in the back are stripped out after normal use... you should have seen it in the picture... That back peice now snaps into place and is held in better than with the screws... just lift that up and oil the bearing under it and take off the endbell (shaft side of motor) and look on the inside of it... the bearing is in there
