Default really hot havoc

Hey all! My havoc 15 turn motor in my evader st gets so hot that the solder melts and the lead wires fall off. The first time this happened I was on my fourth battrey pack in a row. But tonight it happened on the very first battery pack and I was going pretty easy on the truck. Is there lots of different things that could cause this or is this motor just worn out? Also, are there supposed to be two capacitors on the havoc motor cause if so I've lost one. Could this be my problem? Thanks......post u later

It sounds like you are over-geared. You may also want to install a 540 size heat sink.

What pinion and spur gear are you running? Has it always done this or is this a recent problem?

Make sure your CVD shafts flex smoothly too. Both of mine were binding right out of the box and caused the motor to get so hot it melted the solder like yours did. Pulll them out and check to make sure they pivot freely in all directions.

Those motors arent worth their weight in scrap. After the first couple of runs it will get hot.Just run it till it dies and get a new motor.

The Reedy is a very good motor but you can get decent motors for 1/2 the cost of a quad mag. I had really good luck with Orion Method R motors (21x2) and they are only $17.00.

You cant get cheap mod motors and expect them to last all to long.Your best bet would be to learn a little on motor matiance suck as changing brushes, cleaning it, cleaning the com/cutting the com.You can make a spec 19T (pretty fast) last quite awhile.

Another option is the Cheak point 19T.There a good motor. Not to mention you can run the **** out of it and wouldnt know the diffrence in life.

I'm a fan of the trinity speed gem pro line, great motors and a good price IMO, check out there 17x2 I think they call it the speed gem pro amber....its at tower and like $31.99, fast motor, but I do believe the 19t quad is a great motor!

I think you'll be happy with the method R motor. I think they are a very good motor for the price.
