LOL, time to upgrade the steering setup!!

Good to see that the Clod is being used properly!!

ORIGINAL: Mad Racer

After a hard day of bashing the Clod, here are the results:

(For some of you that seen my previous suspension set-up of my Clod of Phase 2, note that the pictures I am using back the cantilever set-up. I use them back, because the way I mount the shocks, wears out the shock mounts and bushings.)
Yeah, I might needs to do a set-up something like your's. I have broken many of these steering linkages, and now, it's time for a serious upgrade!

Yulp, well many are thinking that my Clod is a shelf queen where that they see so much aluminum on it, but it's not made for the shelfs. It's a backyard bashing beast!

For me, I like it stock(ish)... but will be cool no matter which one you go..

Those ESP chassis has been around for a long time, though... have you seen them in person? Just want to give you a heads up on the "look" (no doubt that they work well..) of it.. it is not quite the modern style chassis where everything looks CNC billet... Anyway, keep us posted!

I wouldn't get either. Why? The quality of there parts are very poor. I'm still not happy with the Clodzilla 4 that I am running, since I had to do a lot of modding and I'm still needing to do a lot of modding. And I'm always thinking it is not necessary to mod this chassis a lot.

But if you do want a Clodzilla chassis, I would probably get 2, since it would probably have less problems than the 4. The problems on the 4 is that some things in the kit won't have the parts you need, which they are suppose to include in the kit. When I purchase this chassis, it suppose to have ball bearings for the cantilevers, which it didn't. I had to find ball bearings and make them fit property in the cantilevers (the ball bearings I had to find had to be really small to fit in those cantilevers).

I don't know about the 2 chassis having any problems, but check out the review of it here: http://clodzone.com/?p=205#more-205

No problem man!

You would be better off with the Clodzilla II, since I don't think it will have problems like the Clodzilla IV.

Think maybe it was a fluke? Maybe they pack the kit assembly line style and the guy who was supposed to put those parts in was drunk. ...or maybe they're packed by chimpanzees(to lower costs).

Hey Lunchbox a few pages back you mentioned ( servo at axle steering), ive looked and found them to be $60 each. Why is that better then the stock steering detup and is that a reasonable price?[:-]

If I'm not mistaken, you'll need axle mounted servo(s) for a clodzilla kit.

It is $60 for a set.. which is for both front and rear..

It is a lot better than stock setup.. take out most of the steering slop.. and don't have to worry about breaking the servo saver / steering crank...

There's always something better, no?!

You asked about if the stock setup is really bad and the steering mod is really necessary.. the easy way to find out is really just to run it stock and then see how you like it.. if you don't like it, then upgrade.. how's that?!

I chose that setup for a particular reason.. I want to retain the stock chassis and stock suspension arms.. and to me, in that setting, I think (just my opinion, of course) it is the best setup..

But if you are running aftermarket chassis, 4 links, etc. There's probably one that works better...
