I just wondered if 100 ounces of torque was enough with the huge wheels, or if it needed something like 150 etc, if using only the one servo...

Looks really good djr, is the steering more tighter now with the new servo savers?

I hear ya.. I want a Clod that's "relatively" stock too.. but man, 5 minutes w/ the stock steering had me running into my house and order up the on the axle steering..

I guess I am just spoiled w/ my TXT's setup.. (on axle steering w/ 1/4th scale servo)

The problem w/ the single servo setup is really not that the servo is not strong enough, etc. It is really the extra linkage that goes from the servo to the axle, where the link can either deform (can be fixed w/ beefy links) or that it would move the suspension instead of the tires instead (nothing you can do about it..) Just that slop that you can't take out of the system..

I don't know man.. I can stand slow.. but I can't stand having stiction / slop..

ORIGINAL: djr01974

Thats exactly why I didn't want to do that . I like the look of the old school setup makes it look kinda like the real thing. But yeah the links from those guys are nice, very sturdy.

Hey gage yeah the alumium servo savers work great really strong . The combination of the savers and the new links made a world of difference.

Looks like I will soon be the proud new owner of a clod. Just won one on ebay with a clodzilla 2 full kit, discontinued duratrax v-spike tires, and what looks to be ae aluminum shocks. I'll probably be fixing up and selling the clodzilla kit seeing I plan to fab my own parts anyway. That should give me enough cash to get some servos and misc hardware I may need. I'm in the middle of converting my tnx to gasoline powered as well. Haven't been so busy with rc's in months, brings back memories lol. i dont have as much time as I used to, that's for sure.

well I guess when you start running high voltage through the clod you have a tendency to start breaking things . lol . I broke the rear chassis brace while getting some high speed air . So I made some new ones . Here are some pictures . I was able to glue the old one back on . Oh yeah I ordered some headlights for the clod and my son's blackfoot extreme and a aluminum bedliner for mine . I'll post some pictures when Im done .

I like the aluminum braces, ha!

Where do you mount your 2nd battery?! Or you only run one (3S), right?

ok so here we go yesterday I replaced both front and rear pinions due to being worn out. Took good old clod out today and low and behold blow the rear motor LOL. My question is which I think this will be fine but I have two team Orion method R 17x2 motors that I want to put in. They do have adjustable timing but I believe if I leave them both at the neutral setting I will be fine. I'm running a superrooster with the motors in paralle the instuctions on the Esc say I can go as far down as a 15-16 turn motor in this config. Do u think this set up would be good. I pulled the motors out already and installed the back one only just to see how she runs. And wow thing rips on one motor I can only imagine when I out in the second.

With dual 17T, are you planning on running 3S LiPo with them?! [X(]

Yeah, with neutral timing, you should be fine... I am just wondering how well they will last w/ the 3S..

Keep us posted!!

Can't wait for my clod. Already bought some stuff to make a crawler chassis and links. Going to try out torsion this time with a flipped rear axle and all kinds of free mods. Already narrowed my 2.2 moabs and cut the foams, considering repainting the rims(blackout). Hopefully will get a body and paint it metallic black, 65t motors and whatever tidbits I may need. soon.

Anyone here got a Clod set up for racing?! I'd be interesting to see what people think about this type of chassis...
