Wide-pede: which shocks?
After widening my pede, I've noticed the lower ride height on the front and the constant bottom out on even the smallest jumps. I'm still using the front stock springs, so I'm looking for something longer I guess. I was thinkin about grabbing the xx-long ultra shocks from the LHS and trying them out on the front.
What do you guys recommend as far as replacement shocks for a wide-pede?

RE: Wide-pede: which shocks?
before you get longer shocks, try to tune the schcks so they are at the highest position on the arms. I don't know if you need xxl shocks on the front, but to stop it from bottoming out, install some aluminum shock caps, put 40wt oil in it and possibly put some harder springs. Preload spacers will aslo stiffen up the ride and move the shocks up to their fill height.
hope this helps.

RE: Wide-pede: which shocks?
The shocks are already at the inner-most mounting holes on the arms. I also tried pre-loading the shocks with the largest spacer and I still bottomed out on even the smallest jumps (1/2' angled curb).
I do have the aluminum shock caps, I guess I'll try to find some stiffer springs and some 40wt oil.

also, check to see if anything is broken on the shocks, because it seems very strange for that to happen. Currently, my shocks are pretty much stock and do not have a problem. Look for any cracks etc.

RE: Wide-pede: which shocks?
I replaced the rod ends on both the front shocks after I did the wide conversion, nothing's cracked, i've inspected everything very carefully. Let me see if I can find some pics.
