Ok thanks for all the input guys. I am going to get the mamba 5700 and some Dirt Hawg II's. Then when I can afford it I will be buying some Elite 4500 7 cell packs off of www.cheapbatterypacks.com

i am piggy backing this thread:

has anyone slapped a 5700 into a dark impact yet?!?
Haha, you should go and read Lunchboxer's DI thread. I have a 5700 in my DI now - and my DI chassis has a USB port specially for the ESC. At least one other user has the 5700 in their DI...cant remember how many tho

i know that the ss 5800 bl system isnt really comparable to the mm 5700 motor on 6 cells though i am always satisfied with what i can get from my rustler with the ss 5800 in it if that helps at all

Yea, I have one in mine...

A 7700 would be too much for off road use I think (or any cars meant for off road.) My DI runs faster on the road but its not very stable (soft suspension, etc.) Tires struggling for grip never gets boring though...

Measured speeds with 6 cell NiMH in a stock geared Associated B4 buggy:
4600: 30mph
5700: 35mph
7700: 45mph
I was reading on that link and they are showing a 6700/6900 motor in the gearing suggestions for different tracks. Are they coming out with a new motor??
Yes, 6900's are in testing right now to figure out max cell counts with different battery chemistries (3s lipo, 3s/4s A123, 8+ NiMH cells) for warranty purposes.
