Default Mamba Vids

Does anyone know where I can find a video of the mamba max systems on 6 cells. I am considering buying a mamba for my pede with Christmas money and I just want to see if I should get the 5700 or the 7700 since I will just be running 6 cell packs. So, does anyone have links or anything? I found this vid of just MM5700 but now I want to see the 7700 on 6 cells.

The only vids I can find of the 7700 on 6 cells are in touring cars so they're going really fast. I can't imagine that the pede would go nearly as fast because it weighs probably twice as much. So I still can't decide. The 5700 looks good from the video I put ^ . I just can't decide.

5700 is plenty of power you dont want the 7700. 7700 is good for touring cars, but just to much unless you have really really huge areas to run it.

Measured speeds with 6 cell NiMH in a stock geared Associated B4 buggy:
4600: 30mph
5700: 35mph

since it is the same price, get the 7700 because you can gear down for the same performance as a 5700
then if you want some more just gear up

Great idea! thanks. And also couldn't I just set the throttle output lower with the Castle Link if I wanted?

I was reading on that link and they are showing a 6700/6900 motor in the gearing suggestions for different tracks. Are they coming out with a new motor??

Don't forget the run time trade off.. I'd run 5700 w/ off-road car simply because that's plenty of performance as is, and still get good run time..

yes you can do that, but you loose acelleration as well as speed. stick with gearing and have fun

and the run time trade off is not big, i think a minute or two is worth the extra speed

did i metion the speed

Hmm you guys are making me think too hard. haha. ok so here's the deal. Until I get my drivers license I don't ever leave my house to run the pede. I get my drivers license probably in April. My point is I run mainly in the street and off a ramp into my grass and then back on to the street. So I am mainly onroad. Then when I get my drivers license I can go out and bash some dirt lots. That is a long way away though so I can't decide if 7700 would be good since I run mainly onroad. And probably some onraod tires?? I am really undecided.

You cant lower the rpms through the software you can lower the timing and that. Put it this way on my 4wd I run the mamba 5700 on the lowest tijming and at 80% punch restriction. ill be uping punch to 50% on and low tioming for track im goign to soon because its more high speed, but thats how much power you have there. Heck the things to much in my xxx-cr I went back to running a 15t. Although the 4700 would actually be perfect in it. Dont take me wrong I can drive the 5700 my cr its just light throttling all the way and thats just not my drive style.

I was in same boat as you when I bought the 5700 and everything everyone saying abotu it being more power then they ever thouight it would be is true. Its alot of on demand power. I can punch the 5700 with 3 feet in front of it and get all the air off a ramp I want. Bigger problem keeping wheels from flying off of it. Make sure your tires are glued good.

On a plus after a run you just floor it and all dirt flies off the tires

Ok so now my question for the 5700...is 40 mph obtainable with 6 cells and the right gearing (with good temps?)

on road, the 7700 it's just better for speed passes. it will just fly and give me one minute, I'll find you some good tires.

[link=http://www.pro-lineracing.com/proline.html]dirt hawgs[/link] are great, they will out last your truck and get traction on all sufaces

and that 40 is in a b4 buggy with stock gearing. it wieghts less than a pede so you will go like 38 and 43 with the 7700
then gear down for run time on both, 34 and 40

Ok thanks man. I guess with Christmas money and allowance, the next thing I will be picking up is a mamba 5700 and some dirt hawgs...possibly a new body too, but I doubt it. That way with the 5700 I can always get some of those 7 cell or 8 cell packs off the Bay for $35.

Look at the original mamba videos "mamba maxx bandit #1" and "mamba maxx bandit #2".
5700 using a 6-cell NIMH.
Most of the other vids are using 2-cell or 3-cell LiPo.

good idea on the 5700. the 7700 actually has a restriction on the amount of power you can send to the motor. the 5700 is wide open. i have the 4600, and i am very very pleased with the even the quick-start setup and a 87-18 gearing. it's so smooth, my 4600 doesn't have "high speeds" with 6cell, but it does have enough acceleration to make for a decent competitor out at the track.

btw, i'm not sure what the stock gearing in a associated b4 is, but the 4600/5700/7700 all can easily provide more that the 30-35-40 range. we can talk batteries all we want, but to maximize the most performance, look at the gear ratio. there is a VERY good calculator on this site to ensure the most effieciency (1 turn of the motor to 1 turn of the wheel)

wow.. no one has mentioned that castle "if you ever decide to go lipo" doesnt suggest that the 7700 be used on 3cell..... only 2 cell the 5700 on the other hand will run 3cell and turn more rpm than a 7700 on 2 cell..

for offroad in a PEDE the 5700 would be the only real way to go its got more tq and itll take the loads alot better unless you wanna wait for the Monster Maxx system to come out in which case.. youll really have to make some BIG wheelie bars for it

I was going thru the same decesion last week on the same 2 systems. I finally went with the 5700 also. The following day i was lucky enough to find a 7700 motor on ebay for 45 bux so i snatched it up. I received both packages in the mail on saturday but have been so busy with other stuff ive yet to install them.

I will have videos soon with 5700 and 7700 comaprisons in a XXXT
I will bee runnin each motor thru brand new IB 4200 wc's. One is a 6cell and one is a 7 cell.

Im kinda curious what the 7700 will do on 7 cells...should be interesting.

a 7700 for 45 bucks?!? sounds like a frustrated parent placed their son's motor on ebay after a bad report card. either motor you go with, the mamba esc is fantastic! no one ever talks about the esc
