What do you guys think, stampede or e-savage?
Well, I've got $300 to spend and can't decide what to get. I will mostly be running through grass, on the street, and occassional dirt found at contruction sites or creek beds. The only reason I am comparing the two is becasue I could save $50 more and get the e-savage which comes with batteries and charger. Or I could buy a xl-5 rtr stampede with gp3300's from radioshack and a nimh charger wich would set me back around $300. I used to have an older rustler with a 13t triple, but only ran nicd batteries, now there is nimh which I think offers longer run times. If I get the stampede, what is a good charger that can charge 3300-4400 nimh batteries?

Oh my, you have to ask? E-savage hands down. The stock 3300s that come with it are more than enough if you are bashing around, and the charger that comes with it is a quality piece of equipment. The Stampede is nice, especially in updated form, but the original design is yonks old now. Go for an E-savage and you won't be disappointed.

With 3300s I have been getting roughly 7-12 minutes per charge on my E-savage. Depending on how fast you drive.
Man is the E-savage a blast. If you plan on rolling your vehicle very much I would go with an E-Savage. It's very very durable.

the e-savage is definetly a nice 4wd eletric truck. i'm not sure if it would be a fair comparison. the stampede, although a higher stance, is still a single motor 2wd...in stock form, a raised rustler.
a better comparison would be between the e-savage and the e-maxx. with that comparison, i'd go e-savage.

My E Savage will be here today!! within the next hour, I hope. I paid $314 shipped from Tower for it. Like you, I was considering a Stampede to add to my arsenal for some quiet fun, and on a last minute decision I bought the Savvy. For about $300, you get batteries and a charger. That makes it kind of hard to pass up. PLUS, the Stampede is only $150. Save money for a while and pick one up. Youll already have batteries to run it!
