No doubt ... this car .. to me .... is becoming a favorite buggy basher in my collection.

Yeah no slipper clutch, but some speed controllers can be setup to reduce spin outs.

My next upgrade is the ball differential.

These are the shocks I have on the front but with different springs.

These are what I have for the rear ... for now.

And since mine was the Super Fighter G body kit .. it had no bearings so I got these.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ZZ3-Ball-Bearing...QQcmdZViewItem

That has 14 bearings. 6 for tranny and 8 for wheels.

Nice color. I'd put some sponsor stickers on it but thats just me.

Also like the way you raised the wing.

Hello,

I also recently got a sand viper. It seems to understeer? or doesn't turn all that much? Is it because i'm going too fast or because of some other reason such as the suspension?

I was also wondering if anyone knew if i could lower the car a bit and harden the suspension and then get some drift tyres and make this buggy drift? Is that possible?

Drifting would be impossible with the sand viper. Really the sand viper is tamiyas version of the b4 and xxx-cr in my opinion

I finally picked my Viper up sometime ago but I did not like the fact that the front hub was the direct axle type. I converted the front A-arms to support C-hubs. I did this to get some camber, caster, and toe adjustments. Also I wnated to run 2.2in wheels and slicks on all corners. I also armed my Viper with a 12T motor. After hitting a car, clipping the front wheel, and bending the screw pin, I decided to fashion up a carbon fiber front suspension brace.

TA05 parts actually. They do very well. Never had any aspirations of racing this one...just some good plain fast fun.

I started out using M03 hubs but they were to short. Made a run back to the local Hs and picked up some Tamiya spares.

Hey guyz I have found that the esc i get with this sand viper is max 23 turn. If i get the hop up sport tuned 540 engine that is a 23t motor, is it okay to run it with the original esc because i found some site that says this esc might not be able to handle 23turn motor?

Also, does anyone konw what type of aluminium shocks will fit on the sand viper and if thin oil or thick oil is better for handling on a dirt track?

The included teu-101bk is a great esc. They can actually handle mild 19t's without issue and if anything ever did go wrong, the thermal feature never fails to shut it off before damage occurs. With such small buggies tires and 2wd, you should have no problam at all.

cool thanx for the info~

can anyone tell me exactly what a servo does? i don't see the point of getting a new good one if all it does is turn the wheels~~ -.-;

also, anyone got tips on how to make my sand viper handle better?

just done with my dt02
mm5700 with 2cell lipo and using a fan on the esc
tnx rear shocks
using a tamiya baja body. had to do some trimming for the body to fit
using stock gears and pinion.
would like to find a good 3 cell that will fit and I want to change the pinion to a 19t.
My friend is giving me a df03 tires from his dark impact so i need to finish my tyres on the first run.

well first id get rid of the friction shocks. then the stock silver can and esc. then look into new tires. high torque steering servo. by get rid of i mean replace with some hopups. i think the df02s aluminum shocks might work

DXB90 - Have you had a chance to run the viper with the MM5700 in it? Any tranny issues. I've kicked around the idea of buying one of these cars for a long time. There's one sitting on the shelf at my LHS for $120 and they've had it forever (at least 3 years) so I might be be able to get a gool deal on it. What have you broke since the brushless upgrade?
