Default Off Road Racer / Pro 2â„¢ ThunderTech Scale Desert Truck Prototype

I just received my prototype today. I can't wait to test it out.

You can see ThunderTech's introduction site here.
http://www.thundertechracing.com/desertracer.htm

I will be posting pictures, but as luck would have it my digital cam's battery just died...I am charging now. I will start posting pics in about an hour. Stay tuned for up to date info as I test this beauty out and take it to it's limits.

This is the first SCALE stadium truck on the market that I know of.

This is taken from Thundertech's wedsite

TEX, how come you always get the good stuff first?

Did you have to pay for it?

As much as I'd like to see this one built, I think TEX needs to work on the M-03M Suzuki Swift first... hee hee.. (joke)

Looks roomy enough to drop a 750 size motor in.

Well, I am going to start out with a 19T or 5700kv.

I have not decided yet.

I am relocating the battery and some other components.

That's pretty much sexy, TEX..

LB - came mostly assembled. He just needs to glue the tires and build the shocks.

I think it comes pre-assembled, kind of a bummer- I love to build my own stuff, even better than driving it!

I have more fun driving off roads than building them vs. on roads.

Hey, with your employee discount, you should be able to put in any system you want... hee hee..

A Novak 7.5 would be cool...

MM 5700kv would be fun too!

Nice scale truck. Tough it's probably not gonna be raced except against other scale trucks, since it probably can't perform at the level of other race designed 2wd r/c trucks (AE T4 , Losi XXX-T etc). I'd toss it around for fun around my dirt field if I got one.

But as usual, such a reasonable price tag... especially since some of it's put together with parts from other r/c companies...even if it's under the giuse of "custom."

I'd like to rip the guy who comes up with prices a new one..... It's not even Carbon Fiber to excuse *some* of the price....... I hope that the real "street" price is more reasonable than that blatent rip on the website.

*** dude... This is an awesome scale truck, it isn't in the same league as the STs, and isn't designed to be.

This is serious custom work here, and all you can say is "oh noes it's not carbon fiber!!11!"... you don't need it at all for this sort of thing. That price is pretty good for this sort of thing, imo. It's in the same sort of area as a high-lift (not physically i mean, but ultra cool scale kit), i think, and similar price tag.
