Receiver Pack with ESC

Ahould you run a receiver pack when using an electronic speed control? I run two 2400MAH Nicad packs and I am trying to get the longest runtime possible. Is using an additional receiver pack ok with the use of the EVX esc on an Emaxx? What abot other ESC such as the Super Rooster?

im not sure if you should but i really dont think you would gain much if anything by running a rec pack
