2S2P is two cells mounted parallel. Thats two cells 3.7 volts apiece, combining to give you 7.4 volts. If they were wired in series, it would be 3.7 volts. In any event, go with MaxAmps 6000mah HV. I am running the regular (not HV-high voltage) and my runtime is sick. Blast after blast and steady driving, I can walk a mile and still have juice when I get home. I have run in front of my house pass after pass for 45 minutes. The good thing is, MaxAmps packs are affordable. Just make sure you have the right charger. Everyone and their mother is going to squawk so you may as well read it now.

I thought paralleling would double the mAh, not the voltage [&:].. Series would be combining voltage and leaving the mAh the same..

When talking about the cell count/limit/voltage use only the S number. If you're limited to 2 cells (7.4 volts) then use a 2S and any P number. This may help.

Maxamps just came out with some nice 5000 hv cells which are a good replacement for subC packs.

Those orion lipo's are overpriced and due to the added weight of the case defeat the point of having lighter weight batteries.
For some really good cells go to www.maxamps.com or for some good inexpensive cells go to http://home.comcast.net/~truerc/read...eady_packs.htm and get a 7.4 pack. You should at least get a 4000 mah pack to handle the amp draw but I strongly recommend going with 6000 mah to be safe.

the main reason why i like the orion ones is because they come in hard shell so they only swell and not explode, and I am not sure if you are much of a racer but all of the guys that race at my track with lipos actually add weight to their car because the orion lipos are to light and they spin out to much around turns. so actually if you race the reason you go lipo is not for lighter batts it is because you only need one lipo compared to three nimh so they are actually cheaper even if you buy one $140 lipo compared to three ib 4200 matched cells which would cost you $200 by the time you got battery bars and everything else. and lipos have a longer lifespan than nimh.

Bye the way the cases don't weigh jack. You obviously have never owned an Orion pack.

1 - I only need a charger, not a discharger....equalizing tray....and all the other garbage to do battery voodoo
2 - There is no battery memory effect. So I can leave the battery charged, hald way charged, and even recharge at half way charged, without runing the battery
3 - They last a LOTTTTTTTTTT longer.
4 - You can buy more MAH and have longer runtimes!
5 - They are the future......... CONVERT NOW or CONVERT LATER!

I am going to convert to lipos as soon as I get money from My graduation party And go brushless at the same time. people just say stuff without knowing the full story and that makes me angry. The orion packs are probably the best ones out there imo.

Let's not forget they are lighter, enabling the car to attain higher speeds. Higher nominal charge so it has a better punch. Geared right, the battery barely gets warm. You can race nitro cats with Li-Po/Brushless on-board and actually hang with them for many laps. While they are re-fueling, you are still driving. By the time you pit up to change (if you have to), you will have so many laps on them, they will go electric (ask RURC, he did it with a 1/8 scale buggy). No battery bars, no more cycling, no more discharge trays, no more soldering, no more broken solder joints after a crash. Man, the list goes on.

no offense to anyone that has nitro in this thread but I think that anymore that electric is the way to go they are just as fast less work and that freakin nitro permanantly scarred me for life i hate that crap. And the noise that nitro makes it is so loud and annoying.

I still run nitro because eletric conversions for truggies are MAD expensive. But for on-road, my Pro4 is my CAR! Ballistic!

My Pro4 is running the Novak GTB w/3.5 velociti. MaxAmps 6000 (not HV) provides the juice. Acura NSX is the body and the car is hopped up to the teeth. 3racing heat sink w/fan on the motor. Gear ratio is 9.95 FD and a flat out rocket! Novak glitch buster plugged into the aux slot in the receiver to handle voltage dips.

On the Pro4, the pinion gear, the one that feeds the diff, usually strips out. This is after some serious wear and tear, and massive breaking. A 3 dollar fix, it only becomes annoying because of dis-assmebly. Aside of that, the car is a beast!
