I thought I'd repost this in the hopes that someone can help me out. Question: Are there any alternatives to getting rid of the annoying stuttering problems other than soldering the motor wire together? I have both the 5700 and 6900. I'd rather not be locked into a motor choice by not being able to change easily. Settings are as mild as it comes. I have Tenergy and GP packs, JR XS3R radio in my T4 --- the car is giving me fits.... Help !!!
while im big against using plugs on the motor as ive seen alot of issues. the problem you just describe is not the plugs. sounds like glitching from having an am radio.

9 cells on the 7700, thats nuts, the motor is rated for 8 cells, what are your temps on the motor.

I run 4s1p A123 on the 7700kv. You have to watch the temps and willing to sacrifice your batteries. It sucks alot of juice.

OK guys read the entire thread and didnt come away with a very definative answer...Although there is no "definative" answer to my question.LOL. I just picked up an Xl rustler, I also grabbed the 5700 motor with the Mamba esc, I will be using a max amps 2s 6000mah lipo with talon tires on it. Could someone tell me where to start gearing it? I still have the stock 86T spur in it and would like to keep that spur as I purchased a few in case of stripping them...I would like a well rounded gear as I will run this on everything from short grass to dirt to pavement. Thank you for any help.

I'd start with a 16 or 17 and check the temps/speed.

I'm getting a 2s 8000mah for my 5700mm. I'm afraid with a 3s it will have two many heat problems.

Is anyone running a 2s on the 5700??
And how fast does it run compared to a 3800 6 cell nimh battery??

Im running a Hyperion 2S on my DI (MM5700).

I dont have a 3800, I have a 4300. I cannot give you specific speed figures but the Hyperion is definitely faster off the line and lasts longer, and runs cooler.

Speaking of cooler, I bought an aluminum battery cover specifically to help my NiMH cool better. Now I use Lipo, the cooling is not necessary.

I can hit almost 100deg C on the motor with the 2S.

I assume you are getting the Maxamps 8000?

Hey guys, Im new to electric RC...im been running nitro for a few years but wanted to try electric. I picked up a used duratrax evader and put a mamba max 7700 in it. Im running 4600 NiMah Ener-g 7 cell packs and this thing really cranks. The problem im having.....besides too many wheelies and melted gears........is this. I seem to lose steering from time to time, which can be a problem at 50 mph. It seems to always happen after I let of the throttle................ Im not sure if this is a receiver issue or if it has something to do with the speed control cause it lets out a few tones now and then. It also seems to happen after about 10 minutes of run time.

Well im learning as I go here. If anyone has any ideas please let me know

Thanks
