Default Duratrax ST on Mamba - diff problems

Hi. I recently installed a mamba max brushless system on my bog standard Duratrax ST RTR. 2 Diffs later and I think I am doing something wrong. I keep stripping the middle of the diff gear where all those balls are.
I am adjusting the diff as per the manual - tighten it snug and loosen 1/8 turn.

What am I doing wrong? Am i dreaming running the mamba in the duratrax?

The diff along with the idler gear is a weak point on the evaders. My advise is too loosen slipper so that it slips first.
