Sprint Car Wheels
I started this little project.
I'm building an electric sprint car. On another deal I did for a dirt modified, the guy threw in a sprint car, or at least most of a sprint car. It's got the suspension, frame (pan) and roll cage, and I'm using an RC10T for the balance of the parts.
What I'm looking for is a set of wheels for it. I don't want to use the smooth disk wheels, and being that is is a sprint car, I was trying to keep in the real "theme" of a sprint car, so no spoke rims. What I had in mind is something like the wheels in the attached photo.
This is not a big bucks project, I think when I'm done, I probably won't have over $80 out of pocket into it (I don't want to add up what I spent in parts that were already here). Most of the time was spend painting, and rebuilding with parts from around the shop, so I don't want to go crazy with the wheels.
I'll post pictures of the project as soon as the battery in the camera charges.
Oh yeah, it is a 1:10 scale, so I'm thinking 2.2 rims for the rear, and don't know about the fronts yet, but probably a skinny ribbed tire, so something narrow.
And I'm still debating if I want to make it winged or not, open to suggestions on that too.
Thanks for any ideas in advance.

RE: Sprint Car Wheels
I agree with the scale look, and I've done some research on it. There are non winged sprint cars. I imagine that they have to be a handful to drive without the extra downforce.
I like those wheels, looks like the trick now will be to find some for the front.
Already have a new set of those tires, I really like the look of them for this project.

LOL, that is a real car. I just attached it so I could show an example of the kind of wheels I was looking for.
However, that is a really small sprint car. Powered by a 600cc Honda engine.
I'll try to get pictures of the project car up today.

RE: Sprint Car Wheels
you can try narrowing the wheels. I don't know of any that have that design and are thinner for the fronts
heres a guide with stampede wheels. they look liek they will work but the axle hole may be different

RE: Sprint Car Wheels
Here's some beginning pics of the sprint car.
I know I have to work on my welding a bit more, but it's as close as I'm going to take this one.
I should have a few more pics by the weekend.

Not much, it looks heavier then it is.
Thats one reason I trimmer off most of the pan also (to make up the difference),
I'm not real worried about performance, we don't have any ovals up here. So this is just a show piece, parking lot runner.
It will probably have a 7 cell, and a Reedy or Vector in it (haven't decided yet).
I already have a Novak Cyclone ESC for it.

RE: Sprint Car Wheels
Here's an update on the Sprint Car project.
I finished the paint on the body, still have to do the wings. I haven't finished mounting the body yet, and I still haven't decided on the front wheels. I did find out I have to rework the front shocks and mounts. The pictures really don't do the color justice. It's pearl blue, with blue metal flake, and the silver has blue metal flake mixed into it. It also picks up a lot of reflections.
