I have a Bandit too -

If you figure it out, I'd like to know. It would be nice to use my 1/8 scale buggy tires on the rear.

does it use 12mm hexs or a drive pin for wheel attachment? for the rear, there are 12->17mm adaptors you can get. the front however i don't know what you could do..

o then perfect. http://rcpcrawlers.com/adapters.html. tthe black ones near the bottom. should work, depending on the axle size, you can also drill it larger if its too small

Unless they changed it, just rear. The front just has a pin and no hex.

How do you know they changed it? I don't think they did.

I didn't think they did but mine is an old Traxxas bandit. It doesn't have any hex's on front, just in rear.

Oh, Iguess it is a little different than the stampede/rustler.

You can use the front Rustler axle, so that you have room to use a hex. Simple as that. That's what I did with my Bandit, so that I can use standard wheels.

Should be able to use the ones from a Rustler but might have to chage the axle so it would be longer to allow room for the new hardware.

I called Traxxas tech support and asked what all I need to convert mine over to a Rustler a while back (never actually did though) and they said the axles are longer than bandit to allow room for the extra hardware. Everything is the same except for body mounts and suspension.

Actually, if I'm not forgetting something, only the front axles need to be changed to longer ones, at the rear I am able to use HPI 2.2" Super Star wheels with hexes no problems.

The new xl5's all have bigger front hexes.

I have the XL-1 Bandit and it has only the pins. But I think you can convert it to the rusty like I believe the one in the pics have, then you have the 14mm hexes!

I compared the bandit and the rusty exploded views on the traxxas site. You need to change a few things like I think casters, axles, a-arms, tie arms. Anyway these are the part #'s that I seen different: 3631, 3641A, 3739, 3632, 3637, 3139. I'm not sure if I missed anything.

Actually after looking closer to that pic it just looks like they added the rusty body mounts. That has the stock axles and I think a-arms.
