Default Looking for new shocks and foam tires

i need some new shocks for my X-ray t2r, I know most peple love them but mine have broken piston changers, and rusted shafts(somehow i dont know how[:@]) I was looking at the tamiya trf threaded shocks, how are they and will they fit?
Whats a good starting setup for on-road running(asphalt).

Where can i get those spoked wheels and foam tires that are good for use on 1/10 on-road cars(not carpet foams)? I have the carpet ones but they are really soft and get chewed up quickly. I just dont fnd rubber stickey enouph.LOL

i have heard people use the tamiya TRF shocks for xray replacements and love it but there have been mixed feelings about that. although the trf shocks are great there heaveir than the xray shocks and would add weight to the xray. there have been different opinions. I asked the same question and desided to stick with the xray shocks.

as far as the foam tires look into GRP and JACO they make some good foam tires from softer sticky to harder foam compounds. tower hobbies sells both brands

the 26mm is the usual touring car size for 1/10th, so that will be fine. As for compound, that one looks good, I don't know to much about foams, but the description sounds great!

those would work perfect, like i said GRP makes good foams and basically what your looking for. I think they do have harder compounds also.

I'm not sure about the shocks, I run the stock ones; but the harder the tire the longer it will last but it will give you less performance.

i guess you have to figure it out, i dont know if its a direct drop in, but it can be done maybe a different screw or something to hold it, but it fits. like i said though some people like them, but some people prefer the xray shocks, look at the snowbird nationals, xray ruled there completly. insulted the other compitition, and all it was a stock t2007 and t2 and t1fko5 with xray stock shocks.

Whats a good starting setup for road racing(parking lots)?

I think im going to run these
Front- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMWW8&P=7
Rear- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...p?&I=LXMWX3&P=
or
rear- http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXMWX8&P=7
should i run 26mm all around or run 26mm-30mm?

How long will a 42 shore tire last and how do they grip?

any other people know what i need to put the trf shocks on?

it doesnt specify how long they last if you go to there website [link]http://www.grpgandini.com/uk/1-10-touring.asp[/link] you will see the harder compounds are represented by higher number and it says what kind of track ur running if its dirty or clean if its cold or warm. then look at the manufacutres number and thats the tire for the job

So does anybody know what things i need to put tamiya trf shocks on my t2r if i decide to use those instead. I just went to order parts and it was like 40 dollars at the least to fix mine[:'(], so might as well see what i need for the trf ones Im not really seriously rcing anyway, so i dont really mind a little bit of weight for some bling factor.

Help on what shore rating is still wanted lol
