Default temp. gun cunfusion

I just bought a duratrax temp. gun to measure the temps. of my upcoming mamba, but it is a little more difficult than I thought. It has many settings, the manual has a setting for different aluminums. I would like to know which setting to use for a mamba max motor/esc. In other words I would like to know if the can of the mamba max motor is anodized, powder coated, or sandblasted.

regular aluminum, sandblasted aluminum

OR

anodized aluminum, powder coated aluminum

Thank you for all of the help.
