Default Who runs a fan?

My stampede motot was running way too hot with any gearing, so I am looking into an integy fan/heat sink combo. I had an old computer fan laying around so I spliced a reciever plug onto it to run in the batt slot and zip tied it to the motor. With the fan it was glitching alot. I only have an am radio and if it's going to glitch alot i wont even bother and I'll just get a heat sink with no fan. How do you guys' cars run with fans and what radios do you have?

Wait did you stick the fan over the ESC or the motor? The fan motor (most likely B/L) may be messing with something...

The fan blades will shatter within a few runs because of dirt and debris flying up at it.

That is why you make a custom cover that protects it.

I would just cut out a screen that fits it and mount it right over the fan. Or you could take some lexan cut it to the right demensions, drill some holes in it and that should work.

Yes, the fan is brushless. I put it over the motor, the esc only warm, the motor gets blistering. I am making a wheelie bar for 2 reasons 1) so i can run a fan and 2) because I plan to go brushless soon and my 19t is pulling some nice wheelies too.

If you have the money get the swami-bar from www.swami-rc.com Its so durable! I use to have it on my brushless rustler before I sold it and It took some major betings and never bent or broke. My friend PB also has a swami-bar and hes done numerous beating to his truck and the swami-bar is still holding up strong!
