battery explosions its crazy! me&pop were watchin tv then...BOOM! we go to see what happened did someone drop something NO there was flames all over the table we try to put them out then BOOM! a cell we didnt see explodes right by my foot (scared the @!#$ out of me!) luckily i didnt get hurt! so we get out of there and mom comes doun freaked out saying what the .... happened and were standing out side waiting for the other 4 cells to explode and they do trust me! finally we come back it take every thing out of the room and get it cleaned theres holes in the wall black crap all over the walls... and pop is mad really mad and no i did not recharge the battery more than once.. th thing did not beep done once before it exploded...pops not going to let ever get into rc again...so you wont be seeing much of me again.....
maybe i can get back into it after pop cools down a little

Well... That was your first mistake!!!! instead of watching t.v you should have been paying attention to your batts. Batts just dont blow up all at once there are signs, one of them being swelling!!! Better be glad it wasnt lipo's because you wouldnt be posting any pics probably because you wouldnt have a house left.

Exactly what I'm wondering. I don't want to jump to conclusions but batteries don't just explode out of nowhere. Sounds like they were very overcharged.

i know they must have been but the charger never beeped and went to trickle.

I never heard of a Nimh blowing up before. I have the same Venom 3000 pack, and never had an issue. I use a superbrain 820 to charge it.

Were you using a charger that was intended for nimh packs(?), because they peak differently than nicd.

I quit using my Prophet Plus after it blew up 2 transmitter packs - it never detected the peak... I still have it and considered sending it in to get checked but went with a Pirannha instead.

Then either your charge malfunctioned or you over charged the battery.

This may have been his problem then. If I was his dad, I would contact the company that the charger was purchased from, and let them know what happened. They may get something back in return, and the manufacturer may have to take a second look at this charger.
