Novak XBR Any Good?
Would like to hear some feeback on the Novak XBR system, interested in the 8.5.
I have Integy 3800 nimh, wondering what runtime I can expect in a B4.
Thanks

RE: Novak XBR Any Good?
I cant tell you what your runtimes will be. But I can tell you that I get around 15-20 minutes on my Reedy II 3700mah batteries in my 4WD DF02.
The XBR/EX 8.5 is not as fast as the MM5700. But it is plenty smooth and has good power.
If you are in the market for an cheap, reliable ENTRY level BL setup then I can reccomend the Novak with confidence. Just keep in mind that there are faster more powerfull motors out there.

i have ran my XBR 8.5 briefly and i like it, typical Novak smoothness and with more speed than i predicted, sure, if you want crazy speed, go with the MM 5700.

RE: Novak XBR Any Good?
Thanks for the info,
I had the Mamba Max 4600 and 5700, but I want less power for bashing and more run time would be nice.
I also like the fact that the bearings and rotor are available sepparate, and I've always been happy with Novak in the past.
The Mamba was good, had to send in a motor for noisy bearings, sent me a new one no questions asked, but would rather have more runtime and less power.
Are the brushed ratings accurate or are they faster than that?

i bought the XBR for the same reason, i needed less power, but smooth power, as my RC is RWD, seems to work good so far, and i havent played with the settings yet..

Seems the common consensus then. I had a MM5700 in the DF02 and it was just to much power. That is why I bought the Novak.
I would say that the Turn ratings that Novak give for the XBR systems are pretty conservative.
Pretty happy with the system so far.

20-25 minutes depending on how hard I am driving the car. Tamiya DF02 with a Hyperion 3300mah 2S Lipo battery.
15-20 minutes on a 3700mah Reedy Power II NiMh.
My final drive ratio is just a tad over 10:1

Thanks Phelansa, that sounds more like it.
I was getting 6 min with a Mamba Max 5700 in a T4 12.57:1 gearing on the track with Reedy X-Rated 3700 nimh, and 8 min with Integy 3800 nimh.
