It depends on how hot. Up to 150 is ok.

We all have different pain tolorances. Things can also feel hotter when It's cold outside... You should get a temp gun.

Duratrax flashpoint is the one I have... Works great for me. It's $20 but I'm sure you could find one a little cheaper.

All the more reason to make sure you don't overheat anything!

thanks
No problemo, I really like mine. Was a worthy investment.. Especially when I have a BL system on the line.. [8D]

That means they are not ok. Over 150 puts your batteries in danger and perhaps the rest of the truck...

man your lucky my hands are all scarred up from the soldering gun.(stupid deans connectors)

once your batteries get to hot they begin to loose their punch and if they get hot enough they will pop.

They are probably closer to 200 then and the problem will be degrading batts (it's already started) Either the truck is using them up too fast for some reason or they are really ge3tting old/junk. Maybe a little of both and if it's the batteries then they should be retired to a slow vehicle, crawler,roto-start, or lightweight stock 1/10 scale car.

The stock emaxx pulls lots of amps. If those packs are 2000mah then they arent going to last to long in that truck. You need to get some quality batteries. You will think its a new truck if you do.

e-maxx probably should use minimum of 3300's and good quaity cells at that. 15 minutes is great though.

You should put them in your other vehicles and get new ones for the maxx. If you dont they will not last too many more runs like that and you will have to buy some new ones anyway.

Back when I used to race, my packs would be painfull to hold after a race. In my electric planes, I've melted the wrap off the cells. Some guys take the plastic wrap off and use kapton tape because they know that their setup will melt off the wrap. Nimh are pretty tough and they can handle it. I'm speaking mostly of GP cells though. Never tried any of the budget cells you see today. I wouldn't worry too much about a little heat though.
