IF YOU DO SOME READING THEY ARE PUTTING THE ST TRANNY IN THE EXT AND SWTCHING OUT THE EXT AXLES ALSO NOT FOR SURE WHY MY FRIEND IS RUNNING A EXT AND HAS HAD GREAT LUCK WITH IT..... OH I LIKE CAPS THANK YOU
Nobody is putting the ST tranny in the EXT. Thats just some random thing Frozen is doing. There is no point to it seeing as the EXT tranny can handle power better.

Quit the caps[:'(]
actually there is someone, read up in the TEC you will see who it is.

edit: ok you know who it is,lol but its not random thing he is doing.
I kinda consider it random since everyone hails the ext tranny as good for brushless, yet the st tranny needs to be upgraded to handle it. Why would you switch to something inferior? I guess it could be because the st tranny is better suited for racing....but come on, lol. Its an evader, what difference is it really gonna make what tranny you have at the track? I kinda doubt frozen is at the level where he would notice the difference between the two

Hmm, well that shows my lack of experience

I've never raced, nor have I owned another other car besides the Evader EXT. So I don't know the difference, haha.

Trinity co27 pro stock : http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXLXT7&P=ML

Will work with the stock esc. Only 30 bucks and will make the car have a nice kick.

Idk if you have to change the stock one or not. But the best way to tell is if the motor gets overly hot when you run it. If that happens just get a smaller pinion. Keep testing different sizes until you get the best combo of cool running, torque, and top end.

This is my evader bx. I changed the front knuckles with the st. It also has the co27. For now I am still running towers batteries but bigger Mah batteries are on the list next to get.

Hardin Valley---That thing is hot! Nice looking ride.

What makes the tranny in the ST worse and the EXT better? I might buy a used evader and don't intend on going brushless, so is it that big a deal? I just want a good basher. Are they about as durable as the Rustler?

the ST evader uses a ball diff set up while the EXT uses a gear diff set up. gear diff are more durable but not as good on a track.

Im afraid to say my experience with the EXT has not been great so far every run ends with a breakage of some sort and im not hammering it either, to be honest i expected better it only has to see another car and it falls apart! Dont get me wrong its quite an able car with a good transmission its just not very durable my sportweks raven was miles better! Harsh as it may sound i just cant reccomend one pay a little bit more and get somthing else, hope this helps.

I had that kinda problem with I first got it. But now that I actually know how to drive the thing properly after practice, I haven't broken anything on it (except for the spur gear, but thats the brushless's fault )

I have the EXT and I have not broken anything yet. It is a great truck for the money, so no worries there. As far as the gearing with the co27, I have tested 18-20T pinions and all have worked great. At this time, I am using the stock pinion (20 tooth) and the performance is awesome. Both the motor and ESC are warm to the touch after running a fully charged pack. You will be very pleased as you experiment with the gearing .
