WOW!

I made it to the track tonight for some fun runs with my buddy. I took some pics/video, will have to post them.

1st pack, 1800mah, broke it in on that.
2nd, 5000mah, ran very good
3rd and 4th, 8.4v 3300mah NIMH's, getting crazy
5th, 2s lipo, INSANE! Wheelies, wheelies, wheelies! Also many spectacular crashes... I can't imagine 3s lipo, its just not necessary for a 1/10 scale vehicle. But I have one so I'll try it anyhow.

The truck held up very well! I am very impressed. I did hear some clicking from the motor/tranny area but it went away while I was checking it on the stand. Maybe it was just a pebble or somethig else stuck in the drivetrain. Will monitor the situation.

Also, the Castle 5700kv never got over 140 degrees or so, very pleased with the Castle stuff.

Very good,Just keep a eye on the temps.

I use tower,So i cant help you with that.

No upgrades needed out of the box.(good thing as they dont really make any.)

Yes you can,If you look back far enough on this thread there is info on what bead locks to run.

Damn, i was hoping they'd improve it. I used some orange silicone o-rings( in place of the black plastic spacers) to try to seal my storm and it works ok, but every 6-7 races i gotta top off the diff oil

I really like my E-Firestorm!! Which got me to thinking.

Can we beg HPI for something like an E-Hellfire?? Make it 1/10 scale scale though. Maybe the Cyber buggy could be modified (I'd want gear diffs in a truck for one thing).

Hey gang. Can I ask a couple Q's?

1) I lost my battery brace (wife was "cleaning"...). I was going to order a replacement from HPI ($7)unless you guys can think of another place to order from or a makeshift fix...

2) I would like stiffer springs than the stock ones (which are 3.6lbs and 10 coils and 3.3 lbs and 11 coils). What makes the spring stiffer, the spring rate or the # of coils? Would a jump to 2.7 and 13 coils be too stiff (given I get thicker oil too).

Thanks, Ryan

Sounds good,All they have to do is make a brushless kit for it,

On another note, I read that Jato rear wheels fit so I'm going to pick up four unless I hear that it would be bad to use them. Like different offsets or what not...

If it's the Flux then I believe the esc has the cutoff turned on as factory default. If you want to adjust that cutoff, you'll need the Castle Link.

1) Maybe you could wrap some wire around where the thumbscrews are......not sure. I'd just get the $7 HPI brace.

2) The spring rate is the result of the # of coils plus the width of the wire in the spring can be different sizes to result in a harder/softer spring rate. Don't forget the stock shocks are adjustable. If you turn the adjuster down towards the ground, the spring will be stiffer. And vice versa.

Goingmad008, I just wouldn't solely rely on the cutoff. It's good to get used to the truck's power and stop using it once you see the performance start to decrease noticeably. The cutoff is there as a safeguard and a warning to you to stop running the truck. If your pack ever became out of balance, you could risk one of the cells going below 6V and damaging the pack.

Yeah once you start to see the performance dropping noticeably, stop running it. You're not far from the cutoff anyway cause with lipo when you get to that point, the voltage drops quickly.

For top end speed you would have to monitor the motor temp and gear accordingly. I'm not sure what the recommended max temp is for that motor. Probably in the 70-80C range. If you find it's running fairly cool after a full battery pack, then you could go up 1 or 2 teeth in pinion size. If you don't have one, it's worth getting a infrared temp gauge for around $20-25.

Well, I'm bummed the Jato wheels are not a direct fit. I'll probably just get more E-Firestorm rims and some street tires for them.

Hey guys, I'm interested in the Flux 10T. I've read somewhere that it can only take up to 2S Lipo or 7-cell NiMH. Is this right?

Cheers
