RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I don't know if it will run on a receiver but there is the third channel slot for it. I will try it at first and use the BEC as a backup. The BEC won't be wasted, I am converting the nitros to high voltage servos and will need BECs for the Rx.
I just put flatiron tires and 12 oz of front wheel weight on the crawler and its ten times better at crawling now. Highly recommended.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I have decided to step up to 3s for next season, I am selling my havoc 8.5 sport and one 2s zippy. I just have to decide what I want to put back in the storm. I would like to run 50 to 55 mph, I like Rob's setup but would go with the 8.5 ballistic. What do you guys think?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Running the 8.5T on 3s would be cool and get you to the speed you want. I run the 10.5T and think I run in the high 40's at the most and have to watch the temperatures. The 8.5 would be hotter and I don't know if the RPM advantage would be counteracted with shorter gearing. I thought about getting the 8.5T stator and thought against it for that reason. If I could do it again or my motor blew up I would get one of the new short course motors and run 3s on it. Are you going to do an exchange with novak?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I have my system with a zippy lipo on kijiji for $100 and have a guy who wants it but he wants me to pay for shipping to welland.
I will have to look at the trade in and maybe just trade it in on a havoc 3s.
Yeah the temp issue's bug me too. I have my 8.5 gear 24/87 to hit 40 and it will overheat offroad but its ok onroad and on the shoulder.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I looked at the trade in and it sucks, They want $54 to trade in the havoc 2s esc for the 3s esc which does not seem bad but when you add the cost of shipping it to novak and the $20 novak wants to ship the new esc to you, you are no better then the $99 ebay wants for a 3s havoc esc.

I just finished painting my new E-Firestorm body a few weeks ago, and thought I'll show it here. It's a on-road car body, which took some modifications, but I got it done.

Yoyo5:thats how i wanted it to look, but the rims give it that 'monster' look. changing the rims will change the overall look of the car; from bad to the
worn-out dirt bonz TO what i like to call a stadium car.

DarkSideVR: The size of body is 1/10th scale, for the Tamiya touring car. What like about my body most is how i didn't have to create these huge and square wheel wells, which I find is not necessary when it's able to fit on the car perfectly with no big-honking wheel wheels which look ugly.

redfisher1974: I like to run my M.M Pro... still deciding whether to get that 6s lipo (you posted in my forum) but mostly for "play-driving " I take the 8.4 volt NiMH or the 3s.

I am thinking of that chassis and a SC 550 motor. Not for a month or two since I'm getting my nitros ready for next spring and the money is accounted for.

Yeah, nice air (and weather). I am looking into a CF chassis by platinum products. Does anyone know someone who runs one?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Sorry, I got my sites mixed up, I am looking at extreme's chassis. I've been playing with the speed calculator and think the 6.5T, 3400kv 550 motor is the way to go. It can go 3s and 4s whereas the 5.5t is 3700 kv and can only go up to 3s. I figure the 300kv is worth sacrificing to go to 4s. The motor is 120 shipped off ebay and the chassis is 100.

Yes.
Why can't you run your CF on that kit? It looks like the stock firestorm front and rear bulkheads and all the attached stuff bolt straight on.

I don't think it uses the same battery hold down or servo brace from what I can tell in the pic. I could be wrong....it happened once before
