RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Darkside - when I saw the comparison between the castle and novak my response was W.T.F.! (believe it or not, the acronym without the periods was blocked by RCU).
I needed a bunch of parts to complete the blitz and firestorms so I picked up a blitz RTR today. The CF chassis came in, too. The evenings are going to be busy.
The blitz rear bumper doesn't allow for a heatsink so I will do some cutting. The rear bumper is silly anyways, scale doesn't mean much to me.

I am absolutely having a blast. Between the FS's and Blitzes there is a big mess of parts to sort out and figure out what part will go on what truck. I am aiming for a pure stock FS and one that is no compromise and full mod (I think that will be the name of the project, the full mod firestorm).

I did, he is getting a losi desert truck! Its a neat truck but not something an adult would want to play with.
The family got more than I did lately and the retirement didn't take a hit- its been a month of strange events.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
There isn't a lot of room at the back of the blitz for anything. I had to get creative to fit the heat sink. The motor is much more covered as well. It can't be getting as much air as the firstorm. I just need to put the steering servo, ESC and receiver in it and its roadworthy. The RTR is torn down. It makes me sad to tear a truck down when its never even seen a battery or pavement.

That was the strategy with all of this. I should come out cheaper in the and doing it tis way. The blitz is growing on me a lot. It is strange to see such a large floppy body on the firestorm chassis that is only an inch or so longer. I should have it going tonight and hope to go for a drive using my FS ESC and motor setup.

FYI
castle sent me a email saying they are giving $30 rebate cheques on sidewinders 1/10 esc and the 4600/5700 combo's retro to Oct 1st until Jan.
Tower has free shipping on these too and with the $15 off code you are under $100 for a nice setup.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I started a thread to follow the building of my E-fs. You are all welcome to join me there. I should start getting in the key parts within a week or so

I finished putting my e-firestorm together. Its completely stock except for the rear tires and radio box. The wires look messy because I am using an adapter from deans to molox connector.

On my storm I cut a hole in the motor gaurd, where the upper triangle is, to fit a motor heat sink. I'm undecided about using the ESE arms or rpm on my storm, its sitting armless right now

I would rather have seen the short course trucks. The open class video was pretty cool to see. I am two-three days from having fasteners to put my FS together.
