DX3R and 3300T receiver.  I was down to 3.6 volts tonight and the range was fantastic.  My DX3S was never this good.

I'm thinking of taking the blitz out to the practice days at the indoor track nearby and will likely run the SCT motor from the storm and have the 4600 4-pole back in the storm. The SCT setup on 3s is silly powerful in this truck. Its fun to switch it up now and then.

Hi,

What do you think about HPI GRAPHITE FRONT SUSPENSION ARM SET 100408 and GRAPHITE REAR SUSPENSION ARM SET (E-FIRESTORM) 100409 ?

I believe that the consensus around here is the RPM arms are the best upgrade.  I run them, and I know a lot of other guys do too.

I don't know of anyone who has run them in the nitro or electric firestorm thread.

Savage XS tires are the worst tires for the firestorm......ever.  I would have done better with the completely bald dirt works instead.   It looks like they are only going to last four or five packs anyways.

So...my 5700 Flux motor is broke. Permanently.

Racing it tonight, hit the table top hard, landed on its bumber, then it wouldn't go. Figured the motor had just moved or I stripped a spur. Took the motor guard off, and the pinion fell out....with half of the motor shaft still in it. >.<

call hpi/castle they should replace that... tho you have owned the truck for a while so it's hard to say... they may give you a cheap replacement tho...

Crappy news.  You must have smacked it hard.  I broke a ball end tonight.  The lame tires caused me to hit a lot of things tonight.

Dropped from a good 4 feet or so. Bout a 13 foot jump in length though. lol. Landed right on the motor guard. Heard it smack. Knew I broke something, but didn't think I literally BROKE the motor.

Hi wanna_be_racer,

Bad time, sorry for you.

So you'll have to go for Flux Vektor 4800 kv?

Hi,

I received the spur gear today and prior to change motor position i put the new spur gear (finally i've glued a bit the pads) :

It's clear that the lower motor bolt was at its maximum:

So i replaced and set the gear mesh (btw what's the paper weight to be used ? i used normal one 80g/m2:

Slipper clutch fully tighten and loosen 6 turns:

That's it,

You don't have to glue them, they just set in place.  I don't use paper to set the mesh so I cant' tell you what weight to use although the HPI manual is supposed to be the right stuff.  I just push it in and back it off enough that the fingers of the gears aren't touching directly and can move the smallest amount without touching the other gear and thats it.  I find the 6 turns to be a lot as well and do 1-2 turns for mine.

Think I'm just gonna wait till I can get the Castle 3800kv SCT motor/SCT esc combo. Put it on the shelf and do maintenance like I've needed to anyway. New drive cups/cvd's, bearings, etc etc.

What rod ends are you guys using?  I just got my new turnbuckles in, and my RPM ends are 3.5mm not 3mm.

I just want to get this EFS up and running but little things are getting in my way (like bf3) ;p

Wannabe - You can buy a rebuild kit that has a new rotor in it if you want to fix it for a spare and have a bunch of spare parts.

Fractured -  I am running blitz ESE ends. They aren't the strongest, I'm on my second set this year and have also replaced many over the season but they aren't tight and don't pop off easily.  I don't mind the black stock caps and am planning to switch back when I run out of ESE caps.  They seem to perform as well as the ESE but are stronger.

So I finished the EFS tonite. I have yet to go beat on it, as it needs an alignment and I'm sure there are some kinks that need to be worked out. Plus, it was the first rain of the season here in sunny california .

Let me know what you guys think, I will come up with a parts list soon.

Its looking great, fractured....get the extremeRC chassis and we would have nearly twin trucks.  I have the same tire and wheel combo coming any day now.

Nice Storm I really like those wheels and tires too. You can always tell the "good" parts cause they get popular on this thread. This thread has to be the hands down best resource for the EFS. It seems like in this small group we have tried just about everything. I think I will go through my diff and instal that blitz slipper and gear today. I have a new body on the way too. Hope it fits cause I am trying something different. there won't be much playing outside however....we got our 1st snow of the year today :/

Body showed up. Here it is [link=http://prolineracing.com/bodies/bulldog-clear-body-t4-1/]Bulldog t4.1[/link]
Of course my paint job won't be as nice I will probably have to cut and fit it before painting it, just to sure.

I agree 100%. I am very glad I stumbled across this thread.

BTW, Those zippy lipo packs are amazing for only 18.00 or whatever. I am going to order a couple more.
