I don't recommend the proline springs, though, if you can get the losi 22 buggy low frequency or even regular spring set you would be much better off. The firestorm doesn't droop as much as the blitz while at rest so you can't get proper ride-height adjustment with the longer powerstroke springs.

Did you evr get them working correctly? Is there a better set out there over the PS? I want to stiffen things up just for bashing. Stock setup is way too mushy/saggy in the rear.

They were great with the losi springs. If you want to go really high-end look into prolines new shocks, they just came out but I don't know much about them other than an ad on LiveRC or RedRC. If you are bashing just go with the powerstrokes and losi springs.

Yes, very pricey. I don't know much about the chrome coating they have on them, they say chrome. The powerstrokes are TiN.

I may pick up a set for the rears to start. I can get them from Tower for 45.00 with a coupon. Do you need the mounting kit for the rears or just for the front?

The mounting kit does the front and rear.

Its worth mentioning that the stock plastic shocks are not bad and you could get a spring kit for them - its worth mentioning for others who are reading the thread.

Would I need to change the gearing at all?
If so i would assume just a pinion gear would do, which tooth gear would be good?

They are the same outer diameter, no need to change the gearing.

So i picked up a set of these tires:

I have a couple questions.

1. The tires come with foam in them, i assume i leave it in then glue the tire on the rim?
1b. The rims don't have a little hole in them to let air in. Do i need to drill a hole or does this setup not need a vent.

2. The tires are a bit taller then stock, didn't realize that when i bought them. Can I run them on the stock gearing?

The diameter difference isn't a big deal, its minor, I wouldn't worry about it. You put the foams in and then glue, I recommend you watching tire glueing videos on here because they will come off with brushless power pretty easily. I think within the past two pages or so on this thread I posted some information on how to remove and prepare tires and wheels for glueing. Its good to wash everything with simple green first, the glue will hold a lot better. Also roughening the surface up with a dremel wire wheel or sandpaper helps, too.

You will need a vent, though, when it gets hot they will balloon if you glue things too well.

You can put holes in the wheels but if you drive in loose dirt they will fill the wheels and mess things up. The best thing to do is put a few holes in the tire tread with a leather punch.

cool, yeah I read those posts of yours. I just figured the stock rims have 1 small hole in them and when you squeeze the tire, air passes through. What would happen if there was no way for the air to vent? i.e. what is the purpose of the hole?

The tire will balloon and become bouncy. It isn't subtle and it will make for a very unbalanced ride. I have had it so bad that the tire was 1cm taller than the others. If you have the hole in the wheel the tire will fill with dirt - use the certrifugal force to push dirt out of the rubber tire versus put it inside through the wheel. I hot glue the holes in my wheels.

Use an exacto blade, just make sure its round and there are no cracks.

A nitro body will not fit the e-firestorm, the rear shock tower is in a different position and it won't line up with the areas made for them to go in the body.

Hey, does somebody know where to get aluminium spare parts for the e-firestorm flux, specifically a rear upper brace? I only found this one http://www.integy.com/st_prod.html?p...2#.UyMMV1F5N5N although Integy stopped making this item so I can't purchase it from them. I live in Sweden by the way, so it has to be able to ship over to Europe.
I really need the rear upper brace in aluminium or something stronger than plastic since it keeps breaking on me.

I checked out STRC, and they say on there website that its not compatible with the E-Firestorm. I know asiatees just release a whole line of E-Firestorm parts.
