RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Red and Willy - it was good to hang out with you today. The eye candy ad big boys with cool toys was nice but holy their prices were insulting. OVerall a worthwhile day, though.
What blew me away was how much stronger Red's motor was than mine. It was impressive on 2S and competitive with mine running 3s. The 4200 novak I have is rated unloaded and Red's is rated loaded at 4600 so it appears he has about 1000-1200 kv or so more on me and it shows. I believe Darkside noticed a big difference switching to the rebadged castle compared to his old novak setup. I am in the marker for a 4600kv castle motor now after what I saw.

Humm, never heard about those Anderson plugs, but they do look good, specially for the fact that they seems to be griped instead of only soldered. It's a pain to solder that thick cables on flat plates.
Did you check the bats size? Mine were 2S. Don't know about 3S. It's very common for HK to list wrong sizes for their products.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Red, welcome to the PowerPole club
I'm using these for all my 1/10th stuff and they work great.......have yet to have one fail yet. Do yourself a favour and get the $40 crimping tool. It'll create a perfect crimp every time. I started out with the cheap $9 tool and was a PITA to get a decent crimp. Also it's much more difficult to insert the metal connector into the plastic housing if it's not crimped proper.

I have a castle 4600 coming. Not the new 4-pole. It doesn't appear to be for sale yet. I bought it with a sidewinder kit and need the esc for another truck.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
What is the main difference between the sidewinder and mamba max ESC's? Is the sidewinder just a lower current maximim ESC?
I broke my crawler already. It came from the manufacturer with a bearing missing in the transmission!

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
yeah the SW can't handle anything over 5700kv (could probally do 6000 but shhh) on 2s and aprox 4600kv on 3s, vs the MM can do the 6600 and 7700kv on 2s and the 5700 on 3s

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Fixed now. It needed a standard bearing. Its very easy to work on. Tranny was out and apart in less than ten minutes with just a handful of screws. I am hopefully getting a dig servo tomorrow and get that going as well as get started on painting the body.
