RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
An email I received today from RPM:
Hello Everyone,
Thanks to a resourceful RPM customer (Mr. Robert D.), we have found that RPM bumpers for the Associated GT2, T4 & B4 fit the HPI line of Firestorm vehicles. The RPM part numbers we are speaking of are the following:
80042
80045
80232
80235
While they were previously listed to only fit the Associated GT2, T4 & B4, we are now listing them to fit the HPI Firestorm 10T, e-Firestorm & E-Firestrom Flux as well. Please update your records with the new information. Hopefully this will help boost sales on these great bumpers!

No kidding. I was glad to convince them and it took a while. The initial contact about this was some time in the spring. I am not a genius, I learned about the bumper on this forum.....couldn't have done it without you guys.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
guys I have a problem with my ESC in HPI FLUX system.
I have checked everything in manual to reset it and nothing.
problem is : will not move wheels forward and back just steering works when all is on. All wires are connected correctly between ESC and Motor. I had to solder on /off switch as it was cut on the switch casing.
I'm really thinking of changing my power house to novak or similar if can't be replaced. It served me more than 2 years!!!!!
What can I do fix my problem??

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
that's cool Rob. I have 4 broken RPM bumpers already. haha
dadon- that seems weird. I have had 2 have my novak replaced twice (bearing failure) My Dad had the same prob with his novak (I fixed his myself). your stock setup is more powerful than the novak. Just so you know. We need to figure out what is going on with it....sounds weird. start simple and go from there. Keep us posted.

Has anyone ever tried beadlock wheels?
I'm wondering if they are any good for bashing with my Storm.
The idea of not having to glue every different set of tires in a different set of wheels sounds good if it's not too much work to exchange tires.

A few people have run them. I did. They are okay. A lot heavier and the beads do pull out when you are driving hard so there isn't really an enhancement. Beadlocks are really meant for rock crawlers.

I just got my order in from bolt and nut supply and I got enough stainless steel bolts to re-bolt my entire fleet for about 20 bucks! I recommend the local fastener warehouse for that sutff, its so cheap and the quality is good.

Has anyone ever ordered from 3racing? I was just looking at their site and the prices look pretty good but I was wondering about their quality.
the fan looks like it might be good, they even got a video for it.
http://os.3racing.hk/products.php?products_key=4632
even the twin fan

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I don't know what grade and should have been more on top of that when I purchased from them. They were machined with no defects and looked better than other stuff I've bought. I've bought them in the past and they have never stripped or rusted even when used in the salty winter so I assume the nickel content is high. Now you have me curious to look up the fastener grading system...
I bought the single fan cooling unit above and it just arrived on friday. It isn't much of a heat sink but it is a perfect fit for the castle CM 36 motor can. It just contacts the motor on the sides and it comes with two-sided mounting tape which is useless for heat transfer. Its more of a fan unit than heat sink. I plan on making contact with the motor and heat sink with heat sink grease and strapping it on with tie straps.
The blitz was broken for a few days and its fixed now. I got out the castle link and am playing with punch control. I want to see what the CHEAT mode is like, too.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Wich one red, I just ordered the 4600kv combo for 96.20 shipped to my door and a zippy 25c 5000mah 3s batt and the accull-6 5a 50w charger Im going to try it with stock gearing. but no wheely bar because im going to try and do a backflip with it[X(] Hope it's possible because the darkhorse speed calculator said that on a full 3s lipo it could do 55mph\ 90kmph. and one more thing, would the 125a constant be anough to fully satisfy the mamba max 4600kv beacause i heard somewhere that it needs around 150a constant [:@]

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Mamba max 4600kv combo, I payed $139.
$97 is great, Was this the CC or the MM? FYI castle has a $30 rebate on the CC systems.
I had to send my system back for warranty work should be here this week.
125amps should be ok, Thats what my zippy puts out and it ran fine in my storm about 40mph on 2s with stock gearing.
I had a chance to try NitroRobs 3s thunderpower 60c battery and it was really fast, even with the torque control turned down to 3.5 I had a hard time not overpowering the wheelie bar.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
it was the mm, from the black friday sale there it was 120 but i had a coupon for 30% of so 96.20 shipped might of been a mistake geting the 3s because the most power i have had so for is a xl-5 on 7-cell. or the stock brushed stuff on a nicd 1500mah 6-cell(only batt i have had to run on since i igot it[]).
