I have the CMs36 4g00 but havn't run it. Red has one. Read back a bit and see it perform in his truck. It will only run on 3s reliably. I think the 4s means it will handle the voltage but there is no way it can run on that. I don't know the blur ESC...not too many people know about the Bullet in North America since HPI is shunning us and won't release it here

Have you tried recalibrating your ESC? Can you hook a castle link on it and see if you can upgrade or redownload the firmware?

Have you read this? Its kind of funny, especially how they describe the utility of motors with kv ratings greater than 5700kv.

Edit - oops, forgot the link.

hi guys
I'm a new member to this site from australia. I have a firestorm flux which is fanatastic. i recentley got a blitz as a well and decided to try the short course wheels on the the firestorm. i changed the the hexs from the blitz to the firestorm and put on the wheels. looks great and handles pretty good too, however i need some help with the gearing. The motor is getting pretty warm. My setup is stock spur(87) and i ve tried both 18 and 19 ppinion. i dont have any others in that range and wanted to know which way to head - up or down in size.

Thanks again

re: firestorm with blitz tyres you might find this configuration helpful:12/90

[link]http://www.castlecreations.com/support/advisories/10scale-corr-truck-advisory.html[/link]

Thinking you have 5700kv hpi system this is what castle is recommending for slash which I would imagine is little bit heavier than firestorm with blitz tyres on. So ultimately you might end up with 14/90 or 12/87 setting.

What do you think?

Well, that was fun reading the past 282 pages. Now if I can only remember what I learned....

I bought 3 of the E-Firestorm HTs for myself and my boys (it is their Christmas gifts....shhh). We will primarily be bashers but I hope that they will want to race. I have already put AE green springs in the rear and AE blue springs in the front and filled the shocks with 35 weight oil. I purchased 30 and 40 weight oils as well in case I wan't to change it. I also have AEsilver springs to add if I need to. I also bought 10k oil for the differential when the time comes to clean it.

My question to you all is, what would be the optimal setup for the shock positions for bashing. How does the shock position affect performamce. And shall I adjust the shock collar down to raise the vehicle up in order to absorb the jumps better? Any insight would be most appreciated.

Hello and welcome to the club, Your on the right track with your setup for the track. For bashing I use almost full pre-load in the rear and very little in the front. cant help you alot with the shock position holes as I just race mine around the parking lot and race cars down the street. You do have a few guys on here that take them to the track and they can help you out for sure. Take some pics and let us know how the kids like them. Here is a vid of mine (blue) and nitro robs (red)

Thanks for the setup sheet Red. Also... how do you adjust the preload? It that what adjusting the springs up and down(via the collars) mean? Is full preload having the collars turned all the way down making the shock in it's longest state? I have a lot to learn, I know.

That is a great video too. I'm looking forward to going brushless some day. We need to learn how to drive these things first. Baby steps.

Roger that..

I'll have pics up once the kids open them after Christmas. My wife is painting custom bodies for them because they look alike ATM.

I may even make a video of the bashing session. 3 storms converging for a MEGASTORM!

Does anyone have experience with closed cell inserts?

I'm tempted to try this one... http://prolineracing.com/foam/1-10-closed-cell-rear-inserts/

Problem is that no were else is selling it as it seems to be a pre-release sale and Pro-Line international shipping is far from cheap!

Also found the Duratrax Evader ETX2 tires very interesting. Seller on eBay said it won't fit 2.2" wheels, Duratrax guy said it is for 2.2" wheels...
I'm double checking it now with Duratrax support.

My original ground assult tires didn't last much on pavement, but the insert foam was finished much before the tires.
Those from Evader EXT2 looks nice , but I guess Duratrax support will only confirm it's fitting on Monday now.
If you have the inserts the Evader tires are quite cheap on Ebay, 11 bucks for 2 pairs!

Thinking about a set of Pro-line 2.8 dirt hawgs premounted on 30 series torque wheels, More of a low profile tire to help with balloning and overall size is just a hair bigger then stock. Just have to drill out the mounting hole to fit.

Or you can use the traxxas 12mm hex hubs they are heap and if ya don"t like the wheels you can sell them unmodified I use the traxxas ones without problems with those basher wheels

I also have a set of Traxxas All Star black wheels and anaconda tires that will install this weekend for pavement fun.
Fund out that the best match for the Storm are #5576A (Jato rear) wheels with flat hex hubs as you guys mentioned before.

I thought just the hole was too small, how does the hex hubs fix that? never mind I see how it works now...lol
