go lipo! seriously, lipo's gonna give you amazing runtimes, and depending on if you go 2s or 3s, it'll give you some amazing power too. i know how expensive it can be though...

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Are there any other good quality aftermarket shocks for the e-firestorm other than the pro-line? I want to upgrade but I am having a hard time swallowing 110.00 for a set, especially since all I do is bash. I might race in the future, but by no means do I need something that is that top of the line- unless they sell them for cheaper somewhere.

Fractured - the blitz ese shocks are nice and team STRC makes a set. I have both and they are good. The ESE ones are better but the STRC ones are replacement bodies so you can use your old shocks guts.
I wish I had some sort of community that was organized like that. It would be ideal to get a bunch of guys together consistently on a good track for unofficial organized racing.
I havn't had the storm out in weeks. I've been away and distracted with the savage XS and losi 8t2e. I had the losi out for a bit today, it is one sweet ride. The chassis is so smooth. It flies with the mamba monster in it on 4s.

Do you use the light weight slipper clutch from the blitz? if so, do you use the 83 tooth blitz flywheel or the stock 87?

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Wanna be racer- Please go Lipo its a world of difference, nimh packs are junk compaired to Lipo's. I'm so glad I picked up some Lipo's I got a couple 3s Zippy packs all used and then my two New Nano-tech's well not new anymore but bought new. They run super cool dont get hot like the nimh packs and like someone said the run times are more then 10-15 mins. If you wanna see fast toss in a 3s lipo and the stock 4800kv motor will scream toss a 26t pinion on and youll hit 60mph.
Just make sure when you buy a lipo charger to get one with a balance board or box, I would personally recommend the Venom Pro Charger, it Auto Decets Lipos and you can pick up a used one for like 60-70$ and they can charge up to 6s which most can't.
Grab Turnigy Nano-tech batterys with the high C rating and youll be happy camper.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
This is a Picture from Sunday's Race day at my friend's I don't think all the trucks made it in the Photo. There's my Firestorm Holding it down to the far right, she sits low and mean compaired to everything else and is one of the fastest trucks with the 3800kv in it on 2s. Everyone is always amazed by the truck and the power it has wheelieing down the front straight and taking some hard licks and nothing ever getting broke, besides my tie rod coming off and dog bone falling out.

Fractured,
I use the blitz ESE slipper with the 83 or 88 T spur depending on the pinion size. If I use low profile tires I use 83/26 and for regular sized tires 88/21 or so.

Have you guys seen the, converted from Nitro Firestorm in the buy and sell page? looks good and makes me wonder if it can handle a 1/8 monster brushless motor.

That car 3rd from my storm aka far right is a 1/5th scale assfault or dirt oval car with a 26cc weedwacker engine in it. That was the first time I saw it and I was like holy **** thing was about 20-25lbs, it was for sale but needs a new engine and to be cleaned up but it was deff cool looking.

Hey guys that is my converted Firestorm, I dont know about 1/8 brushless, but with that 4420kv it hauls. I tested it with a 3s and my Hobbywing 120A ESC from my Hyper 7 and it hauls. Just a project I wanted to do.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Looks like it could take a 1.8th, mayyybe. But the drivetrain prolly wouldn't hold up stock. You'd have to beef it up a bit.
Namewasdallas, my first lipo and charger should be here thursday. Ordered Losi 5000mah 20c 2s. I have the old Motiv + 5700 setup for racing, not the new one and 4800, so my esc won't accept 3s. Plus, the track is so small, there's no point in trying a 3s unless I'm running my lrp 550 and mmp.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
So, I just realised with this cc motor cooler thing....
Is it advisable to take off the motor guard without having a wheelie bar or something on it? I mean, yeah the fan will protect it a bit, but with no wheelie bar...I dunno that that's the safest thing in the world.

Hmmm. wander if maybe some braces could be made out of brazing bar or something. Got tons of that layin around. Or just find a metal wheelie bar. I thought NewEra had one out..
Also, Rob, was it you who had the CC Mamba Max SCT 3800 combo if their storm ( this one)? I've had my eye on one a guy is sellin for like $120 here, was thinking bout gettin it for the HT roller I have. Use that one as my basher, and make my current FLUX race only and my MMp

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
I had my XS out at the park earlier. I am going to take the storm out later
.
I have the regular mamba max pro and SCT motor that comes with the sv2. The one you showed is different, it has a 5mm motor shaft (something I just learned in the savage XS thread) and I don't know the difference between that speed controller and mine.
