RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Oh ya know, just messin with the storm, picked up an 8eight-T 1.0 with a z28 in, so my time has been devoted to that toward the end of last year. This year, I'm working on the storm, getting it back to completely stock config except for the venom system powering it. Other than that, not a whole lot. How bout you guys?

I don't know what has happened to Red. He was super involved a few years back but it seems like each year there is less and less of him. I know for me, after I blew up my charger and batteries in my brother's basement that my wife basically said that I can't replace until I get a lot of work around the house. This is why I have been out for a while.

RE: Official E-FIRESTORM thread
Well, It's going to be a little bit before I'm able to do any work to the Storm. Some things have come up with my real vehicles that have to be addressed, so everything RC is put on hold as far as purchasing things goes. I'll still be tinkering with it, but for now no new stuff.
I'm also decided that I'm going to go the way many have with the Rustler. I want a speed truck. The Storm is probably not the best platform to be doing this, but I love this little thing, so I'm going to try. I have a list of mods to do, but the goal is 80-ish mph now. Also, going to use the mentioned XO-1's tires. They are HUGE and slicks. If they can hold up to 100+ in the XO-1, then they will hold up on my Storm. Only problem...they are also UBER expensive. $50 a set. But, they're what I need. I don't want to keep ballooning tires so much they end up exploding like one of my Anaconda's did. So that means 17mm hub adapters and all that. Lower the shocks some more with longer tubing on the shaft, just to shortstroke them. And probably a front lip of some type.
Going to angle the body forward so air presses down on the car too. Don't wanna have something that doesn't even look like the Storm when I'm done, so I have some planning to do.

Crosshair, if you want speed then go to foam tires, JACO makes them. That should solve your high speed problems. I think the storm is a great speed platform, that is what mine evolved into. Going the speeds you want is pretty easy if you put in 8th scale electronics.
The thread dropped off a lot since a few years ago which I guess is expected since the truck has been out for a while now. I am still in touch with Willy Stylz, he is very active in my region.

Red! Good to see you. Sorry to hear about your accident but I'm glad you're okay and back.
Not much is new in firestorm world. I haven't driven mine too much and its become an on-road only machine now. I have 8th scale electronics in it and it flies but it needs some work to handle the power properly which I am figuring out.
I just got my storm together after cracking the differential case and going through a set of outdrives.

I'm still beating the crap outta my storm. 3 tie-rods have bent, stock body is all but done, rear spolier departed this world a week or so ago. Fitted some of the bling bits and have a play with the road rage II's but I'm not that keen on them, they balloon as bad as the stocks but lose speed due to being a smaller diameter as well.
Got a new battery but need to get a Dean's connector fitted to it before it can be tested out.

When I bought my motor, I splurged for a Reedy Wolfpack 3s lipo. $82.89. Couldn't be happier.
I'm sure there are cheaper ones out there just as good, but I've run Associated products for a long time now and still stand by them; though they are more expensive, The saying holds true: You get what you pay for.
