Try switching the channels and seeing if the problem switches with the channels. Recieve and ESC location isn't a huge problem but you never know. At this point after trying to switch the channels, you simply need to swap everything one piece at a time to narrow it down. Its probably a good time to invest in a 2.4ghz radio anyways.

Looks good. I have been experimenting with hobbywing ESCs lately and they have worked well.

Nice, toothless!

An update on my E Firestorm; Sidewinder SV3 with 4600KV motor is too much for racing!! Next to lowest motor/ESC I have is a 13.5 or an 8.5 out of my Slash. Think I might swap the one out of my Slash, as I would think it would be better suited with the Sidewinder combo.

The four pole nature of the motor is what is killing you. For racing the 13.5 will be soft and controllable and the 8.5 is about the limit you can put in one if you want to drive straight on a track. I only have an 8.5 to put in my stadium truck (not a FS) right now and it may be too much.

Thanks guys. The Castle motors have ton's of rip and unless you use the Castle link to turn them down it is hard to control. The neewer 4 pole motors have that tacon feel with more torque if that makes sense ?

ordered a 10.5t neewer sensored motor to try out but it will take a few weeks before I can try it out.

collector1231: Do you plan on racing yours ?

For bashing and play I say have all the power you can and the castle motor is great for that. For racing nothing beats a sensored motor with just the right number of turns for what you are doing, which is pretty much 8.5-13.5T for a stadium truck. I race with a 17.5 turn motor in my buggy and I run it in both the stock and mod classes. Lots of power is over rated and it makes you lose control of your vehicle.

Today i destroyed one of my ball bearings in my e firestorm :c
The piece number is b021 so should this be a good bearing to replace it with? http://www.ebay.com/itm/5x10x4mm-Bal...-/251779660847

Personally I have had better luck with rubber shielded bearings. http://www.ebay.com/itm/161549014931...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

use those in the blitz and e-fire

If it fits its fine, I wouldn't analyze bearing too much.

I decided to resurrect my old E Firestorm 10T. The prices on brushless have come down a lot in the years since I stuck this on the shelf. Took out the stock brushed and AM radio. Put in an X Car 120A and Turnigy 5400kv from HK, the whole kit cost about $50. I plan to throw some sand paddles on it and take it to the beach on vacation.

Looks good, enjoy the sand. Say goodbye to those tires with a brushless system on any other surface!

Just ignore Giga, he posts that every once in a while and tries to bait us into stupidity....wish you would just go away, man, stay in the rustler thread with your friends.

Only thing that comes to mind is RPM arms and bearing carriers, even that is not totally necessary. Congrats on one bad ST !

Yeah, they are already getting cooked and I've been taking it easy.

You can get a set of Dirt Hawg I tires and hpi mesh rims for about $35. This tire is really more street and it's a little smaller.

Well last night was an eye opener, The firestorm is insane on those 2s SMC 5000 40C lipos. It took it's maiden voyage
I still need to read up on Lipo charges so I know I'm doing it right as I charged it at 4.0a 7.4v for about 40 minutes the cells were balance charging and reading 5.02v so I dont even think it was charged full.

This thing is crazy fast bone stock. I'm gonna see if there is a way to graduate the throttle and brakes because just bumping the throttle will flip it and if I let off the throttle it seems to be full on brake.

Those charging numbers dont sound right or safe.....maybe I need more coffee. No way should the batteries read 5.02v, pack total or per cell. Are you using a lipo charger ?

That is what I was just reading up on and no not inside my house.
I am using the HiTec X1 AC/DC Plus Charger and had it set to balance mode...gonna check again this morning and make sure I was seeing this correctly because I shut it down last night when I saw it.

Other than the charger, this thing is a real handful.
My buddy who has 2 nitro rustlers came over at 10pm and we ran this thing down the street and trimmed the steering.
He was SOOOO jealous he said he was gonna give his rustlers to his GF and he was buying a Firestorm.
I can't really see anyone needing anything faster than this stock setup because it's out of sight in just a few seconds. I just wish I could get the throttle to tame down a bit so I could roll into it a bit easier, maybe via programming the esc....not sure yet as I just linked the remote and did a quick few test runs.
Wheelies on demand- for street use I am definitely going to have to install the wheelie bar!
Brakes need adjusted as well, If I let off the throttle all the way the brakes seem to engage 100%

Setup the charger and I'm seeing better numbers last night I was pretty tired but will keep a close eye on this since I haven't seen anything about an auto cutoff on this charger.
