Here it is. Bought kit from lunchboxer. One pic shows how i lifted the body. I used plastic tree parts from the kit. Hpi Wheels and highlift tires. ball bearing set. I am only getting 5 min runtime on a fresh 3300nimh battery. My rc10 with a mamba max 7700 gets 15 min on the same battery. Should i put the mamba in the pajero? What are my other options? Is the drivetrain that inefficient? or is the voltage cutoff on the tamiya esc too high?

Nice Pajero! [8D] I get more runtime than that with my 10 year old 1400 nicd pack. Yours might be over-geared, check if you have the 16T pinion in there and not the 20T. Otherwise it looks like your battery is on its last legs

Well i figured it out. Its the crappy tamiya motor and ESC. I took the mambamax 7700 out of another car and put it in the pajero. It is AWESOME. I used the stock 16 tooth pinion. Might have to go down a couple teeth, it has a tiny bit of lag. To make it fit you have to cut away some of the plastic motor cover. The mamba's can is the same diameter, but there are three screws hanging out the side of it. Awesome.

Krawler, look at my pic of the body mounts i posted on the last page. Easy to do. Cut off nub, leaving the disk for the body to rest on. Drill holes right above the disks. Stick in wasted plastic tree parts from the kit and epoxy in. Takes 5 mins.

My kit came with a 16 tooth. It only went about 10 miles per hour. Slowest thing i have ever driven. Until the mamba.

Nothing is wrong with the stock esc with a stock motor or a motor up to 19T, I have tried a similar esc with a 15T in a different car and it worked but it overheated.

20 tooth will give you more of a top speed than the 16 tooth

If you want to go faster and heat up the motor.. yes..

I'd only run 16T pinion in this rig.. but that's just me.. ha!

It depends if you want to go fast and how fast, I dont plan on flipping and scratching the body so I use the 20 tooth but I still have good speed, I also use a heatsink on the motor, It doesnt get hot just a little warm

You use 20T instead of 16T? So you do want it to go fast then... ha! I thought you want to keep it slow?!?

Sorry it is the 16T I tried the 20T its fast.

The 16t in the jero is is faster than my Clod which is not saying much since the Clod is stock from 1990 when I first bought it[:-]
