XXX-T + Sidewinder... 4600 or 5700?
Thinking of getting a Sidewinder for my XXX-T. This will be for both the track + some general fun. Which motor to get though? 4600, 5700, or just get the ESC and then buy a 3rd party motor?
I'm not planning on running any high $$ batteries. Probably just GP3300s but eventually 2S lipo. (No 3s planned.) Getting the most from 6 cells or 2S lipo would be desired.
Also, is there any compelling reason to get the Mamba Max instead? The 25% deal ends tomorrow, so I need to decide fairly quickly.

RE: XXX-T + Sidewinder... 4600 or 5700?
I just got the MM 5700 for my Rustler. Im so new to it I cant give a ton of advice. If you plan to race, make sure you check the rules at your track. Where I go, MM5700 setups generally get put in MOD class.
One advantage i saw to the MMax over sidewinder is the USB is integrated so you dont have to buy and carry around an extra cable. Also, it does add to the cost bringing it closer to the MMAX. I was on the verge of getting the online deal, but did the math and it was really only a little less than my LHS. They mark theirs down to about what the Online deal+shipping was.

I've already got the Castle Link for my Mamba 25 already, so I'm covered there. The online deal also saves tax, partially offset by shipping. Shipping costs about $6. $134 delivered USPS priority mail with either the 4600 or 5700.
I think amateur class is more or less a run what you brung class, which is what I'd probably do if I did any racing.

Bump...
Still not decided yet and the clock is ticking...
Reading on the Castle site makes it sound like a 5700 or 6900 would be preferred. (6900 would require going Mamba Max)
Price diff $134 vs $194 (delivered)

I recently got a Sidewinder 4600 for my rustler, i'm running on 6 cells and LOVE it! It has plenty of power for the track (i'm planning to race this summer with it) but just enough so it can be a basher too. I hit around 45 mph with stock gearing.

if your going the sidewinder route then go with the fastest motor which is the 4600, plus it will run cooler and you will have better run times...

i have the sidewinder 5700 in my stampede. it is very very!! fast. i love it. i should have done it sooner. i get about 30-35 minutes on good 6 cell 4200 battery. and by the way. there is no way that your rustler is going 45 on 6 cells with a sidewinder (slower than the MM) 4600 with stock gearing. my brothers rustler does have a 7700 MM and on stock gearing with a 7 cell it went 50 (we GPS it) and i will be GPSing my stampede. i was going to today but it rained.

OK, finally bit the bullet and went with the 5700. Hopefully Castle ships it quick
It will be interesting to compare my XXX-NT-AD with the XXX-T w/5700. Not really sure what to expect yet.
