I've been having problems breaking the steel turnbuckles from high jumps . That is basically the only weak parts on my slash and rustler. I guess I better stop hitting those darn high jumps. I really need some big bores though and another 3s.

haha thanks man. I have tried a lot of stuff and seen a lot of stuff. I know a lot about these slash, rustler, stampede based trucks and say what I think is best or what I have tried.

Yea the M2 gladiators will handle some street use but not much. If you be careful you can get them to last. I have abused mine and worn them down slighlty so they are not the best. Whatever I need some new tread for all my trucks anyway.

Well just a word out to everyone. The 5000 25C 3s packs are in at hobbycity. I just ordered 2 and so did my friend, we ordered together. 120 bucks for 2 5000 packs, 5 sets of deans, and shipping to my house. That is like 60 bucks a pack with deans and shipping. I love hobbycity .

Oh I was talking about for the slash. The Jato 32 pitch stock spurs fit the slash if you have a 32 pitch pinion. They are a lot stronger. Not sure about the nitro rustler though, I don't have one. But you can check the exploded views.

my stock spur was warped and ended up bald at a few spots and the pinion was thinned to sharp edges, i was wondering if the jato spurs fit too. now i know so next season i'm gonna switch it. we have our last race of the winter season this weekend, so i'll try out the skids.

Even though I was never a Traxxas man, and I guess I gotta get used to it, I got a Rick Huseman Slash. Running a 17t motor, 8 cell battery, and put on a rear sway bar (which helped out a whole lot). I havent beat it up yet, no time.

This weekend I will see how good Traxxas is. I have had many RC's, so its time to test Traxxas out.

Oh I also have a 4-Tec Traxxxas, which is cool to drift with.

They work but you won't be able to use the gear cover anymore because the spur sticks out farther. No big deal really, I doubt you will strip one of those spurs on that truck with or without a gear cover. Personally it is rare to see my trucks with one on and I use stock spurs . Been going on this same spur for a couple months now with mesh and slipper set right.....that is the key.

Cool to hear you got a slash. Try to break it, I dare ya . I know I will be sometime soon, planning some huge stuff, can't say to much though .

Good luck,
Fuse

dumb question but just wondering if there is any difference in off set or anything between the front wheels/tires and the rears on a stock slash. I saw they are tagged as being front and rear so just was curious as to the difference?

Yea they are different. But it is so minimal that you can use the same ones. I use all of the same offsets on my truck.

wow with my gearing at 90/18 my slash goes alot slower than with 86/18, you think 16/86 would go faster (running the same checkpoint 19t brushed) cant run 18/86 because of heat issues =( or it coulda been those bent axels...

Maybe It was my lucky day but my buddy came over with his new Traxxas Slash.
He's all bring on your Vortex Toy.
I said ok.
He continued, I don't know why you bought a Redcat.
I said well It's 4wd, brushless and cheap.
I kicked the Traxxas's butt all over the property I live on dirt roads.
He drove it and wanted to trade, True story.

NOTE: both were stock out of the box

how about a vxl rustler? on 3s. You would not be able to see the truck except for when it is turned off sitting still. Lets see that redcat against my slash . Just let me know when and where and I will be happy to throw in the MMM on 6s. Then smack a wall and BE ABLE TO GET PARTS easily (hint hint).

ya thinking of getting a rustler, then saw that vortex and thought "hey 4 wheel drive slash lol" but unless there are alot of aftermarket parts for that, and its built like a tank. i will most likly be getting a rustler
