It's durable, but it's got its weak points. Check out the E-maxx, I heard it's more durable. For more speed get 7 cells, or new motor setup.

i wouldnt make it faster until you actually drive the truck, they are pretty quick and durable out of the box.

I think it would be just what you're looking for. My brother has one, and it handles nicely even bone stock.

If your used to a nitro MT, you might be a big upset with the speed of a stock electric MT.

The truck handles like... a MT. Not so stable.

It will do wheelies, and etc.

Get the E-maxx, if you don't, you will want one later.

The E-Maxx is a larger truck that does look meaner because of it's size (very close to a 1/8th scale, while the E-Savage is in-between 1/8 and 1/10). I spoke to several people who owned both and all said that while the new E-Maxx is much improved, it still is more prone to breakage than an E-Savage in bashing. However, the E-Maxx is faster (slightly) with stock motors and 16.8V (14cells). Both trucks can handle 16.8V. Speak to owners of only one, and you'll only get their suggestion for the one they own, but speak to owners that have both and you get a more informative answer. In the end, neither will run with nitro unless you go brushless. In either one, a nice BL setup will bring you to 40-45mph...damn fast for a MT.
