Most durable truck out there.
What do you guys think it is? I can tell you one thing, It's not a Traxxas truck so don't say that. I was thinking either a Mt, Truggy, or Buggy. What do you guys think. Heres a few really strong ones.
Hpi savage (duh)
Duratrax Warhead
Duratrax Raze
Hot bodies lightning
That's really it. I would say the most durable would be a 1/8 buggy, but I don't know my buggies. [&o] If you have any more, tell me and I will add them to the list!

RE: Most durable truck out there.
I heard the 8ight and 8ight-t are really durable and they FLY!!!
People from the monster truck forum which you should be on say the LST2 is more durable than the Savage when they have compared. It is also great for racing.

I voted LST2 because I hear nothing but good things about those, they are very durable and big and are exceptionally fast, if Team Losi made an E-LST2 I would definitley buy it, but if not you'd have to buy an LST2 then convert to BL and lipo, I would suggest the MMM and a 6s lipo to really get things goin'.

Yeah LST2 looks sweet, pretty pricey, but sweet.

RE: Most durable truck out there.
the 1/8 buggy is the clear winner here
built tough and has smaller dimensions to make it tougher, yet lighter than truggy equivalents
no MT is going to be close to a good 1/8 buggy

Gotta be careful what you say with buggies. Some of them are very delicate. A lot of people have problems with the RC8 simply falling to bits, it's design is brilliant but it only takes one part failing and the whole thing will disintegrate.

Ah, here we go, from a buggy thread from someone who knows what they are talking about:
The biggest complaints about the RC8 where.
1. Upper A arms and the Top Plates.
2. Hinge pins falling out of the B and D plate.
3. Shocks.
4. Fuel Tanks.
The AE team has worked pretty fast to get these complaints addressed. You have to remember
that the RC8 is still a pretty new car and was designed as a race buggy. Weight was a major
factor and it shows when you compare it to say a hyper or losi as far as durability goes.
Fixes.
The A arms and Top plates are now made from a different plastic, Boil em and
most people stop having problems. The Upper arms can also be put in a bind
very easy if you set your kickup bushings wrong. I went with the AE alum top
but my arms have never given me any trouble.
The hinge pin problem was a very early one and can be fixed with about 25 cents
worth of washers.
Shocks need a rebuild with the RTR caps and conversion to emulsion style operation, it
is a simple mod that really makes a difference.
AE will replace your fuel tank if you got a bad one for free. I went through several
of the originals before I got one to work. Called AE and had a new style tank
at my door within three days.

RE: Most durable truck out there.
The Savage and LST2 are both tough. I guess the LST2 looks more beefier because of the huge shocks it uses.
but The Savage can take some big spills without really breaking anything. The only isssue's I've seen with a savage is the diffs.
This guy at my track has went through diffs in a matter of months. He's probably overpowered the thing though.
I voted for the LST2

Pretty much most 1/8 nitro buggies and truggies are the most durable. Yes there are a few that arent, like the RC8 and maybe a couple others.
And shouldn't this be in the RC General section, considering all of those are nitro's?

RE: Most durable truck out there.
I think the losi design lends itself well to conversion, with the offset center diff
the 8ight should be a good choice (but not cheap)
I have an 8t and have converted it, but not ran it yet and just from looking at it you can tell it's really built tough... put smaller wheels/tires and shorten the a-arms and it'd have to be darn near indestructable
the shock towers are look like 4mm AL, friggin beefy
