That is one weird looking 2wd buggy, the rear A-arms look like a 80's blackfoot/frog style, but then again they dont.
Maybe an old Schumacher?

ok, some things i left out............thank s to tim@mrc for getting me started and .the name of the car is a mk.ll taipan aparently from austrailia. found some pics on tamiyaclub.com under m.i.p. 4x400. still looking and thanks to everyones help.

Its looks like it is, at least in part based on the Sidewinder/buffalo/bobcat but none of these cars have dual independant suspension on the front of the car.
