Sidewinder with 5700 vs Sidewinder with vxl motor?
Which would be better? I have the 5700 and it just gets to hot. But today it was 93 degrees outside and i drove for 30 minutes and the truck got up to 240 on the motor. The battery and esc were fine. Is This because of a dent in my motor? i have a large dent in the can of my motor. That might be creating some extra heat. Or is it the plugs from the motor? I have no idea but i am thinking about getting the vxl motor.
My main question is this. Is the vxl motor just as fast as my 5700 on a 2s? And will it run cooler? I am so lost now, i have tried every gearing possible.
Oh yea and i will be running a 2s on whatever it is.

It should run cooler. I think (I'm not sure) it would be a more versatile combo with the sidewinder esc, allowing you to use 3 cell lipos, and you would be able to achieve the same speed after playing around with the gears.

It's a much better quality motor imo. Better materials bring lower temps, which bring better gearing. My vxl 'pede has kept up w/ a 5700 mamba rusty (both on 6 cells). That's good enough, considering a rustler is supposedly faster than a 'pede.
